I am having a bday party for my 3year old at home and would love to have some kind of entertainment. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a person who did face painting, and balloon animals. I'm also open to any other fun ideas. There will be boys and girls ages 3to 6 years.

What can I do next?

I did a party at home for y daughter on her 4th birthday , I wanted to keep the cost as low as possible so hiring an entertainer was not an option , what we did was rent a kids table and chairs and then I bought some coloring crafts at a $ store for them to do when they first arrived , I then had a game set up called "pass the parcel" , you buy a small token prize (for example and eraser or pencil) and wrap it , and so on wrapping each prize in a layer of paper (you would need a prize for each kid) and then the last prize would be a bigger/better thing , they all sit in a circle and pass the parcel around and when you stop the music that person opens that layer and wins the prize.

As it is summer you could also have some outdoor games or some paddling pool/sprinkler play.

I have been to parties with entertainers , my kids went to a Mad Science party which was good , although I think 3 yr olds may have a hard time sitting and watching , it's better for older kids IMO , there are also magicians , however I am not in TX so cannot reccommend anyone in particular.

Hope this helps

Do a sack race or a 3 legged race if you think they can do it. Marshmallow on a spoon race. Decorate your own cupcake... It's messy, but the kids love it.
As for face painting - ask your neighborhood teen. Some of them are more talented than the pros. I'd stay away from balloon animals - they will pop and break.
How about musical chairs?
Pin the tail on the donkey?
A pinata -- they decorate a brown bag when they arrive and then use it right before they leave to collect their pinata goodies.
Enjoy!!

we celebrated my 3 yr old girls birthday a few days ago. A friend had one of those big blow up water slide things. I had all the inside things first and then let them loose in the slide and boy they had a blast. I had around 11 kids there, mostly cousins, ages 1-8, and they had a blast.

Hi P.,
I offer in home "make your own stuffed animal" parties. I come to your home and take over the party for about 1 hour. It's a great event because you get 1) entertainment with 2) hands on fun and 3) a great take home gift for your guests all in one.
My parties start at just $120. The children truly enjoy getting to make their own stuffed animals with their own hands and the birthday child is the star/assitant. :)

Thank you for your consideration,

Face painting and ballooning by Party Faces. www.partyfaces.us

I used to work for them, and they have some great painters and balloonists. You can schedule on-line or over the phone.
