Hi, my three and a half month old son just started to get fussy between 7-10PM every night... I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if anyone has any suggestion of how to sooth him during this time? We would also like to get on a more regular sleep schedule... so 10PM seems a bit late to get him to sleep, but since he is fussing then, I can't get him to sleep any earlier... any suggestions are very welcome!! Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

Hello M.,
My daugther use to get like that, and now my son does, what i do and or did was give a nice bath and then a nice rub down with lotion all over, that always seems to help my kids, also sometimes running the vaccum helps my son as well. Hope this helps a bit.
Good Luck
S.

He's probably tired now that he is older and probably napping less during the day. He's probably ready for an earlier bedtime, like you said. Also, many kids have a "witching hour" of crankiness. My girls were always crabby before dinner, and my little one always gets really crabby in the hour before bedtime.

I would establish a nice bedtime routine that you do every day so that your son knows what to expect and knows that he is expected to sleep. With our 7-month-old daughter, we do bath, lotion, story, feeding, and bed. We put her to bed with her pacifier (a big soother for her) and turn on a white noise machine. It has worked well for us. Good luck!

My daughter went through that but at an earlier age. White noise sometimes works (like running the vaccuum, low humming, etc...). We also danced her to music with a really heavy bass. Sometimes though there was absolutely nothing we could do but hold her and let her cry.

My daughter did the same thing but a little bit younger than 31/2 months. We would do almost anything to soothe her but almost always putting her in her car seat and lightly swinging her were calm her down.
