My daughter will be turning 2 in a few months. So Im starting to think about what to do for her bday. Probably would have about 10 -12 kids aged 2-3. Any good ideas for a fun party..i.e. age appropriate games, activites, locations, entertainers?? etc?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My son is 2 and so are 2 of his buddies . . . so between them we've experienced 3 second birthdays in the last 4 months. Here's what I got out of it:

Skip the games; they don't get it. Most especially don't get a pinata!! Lol.

There was a bounce house at 2 of them . . . a total hit!! Great idea.

Keep the food simple . . . one of my friends made this amazing homemade macaroni and cheese for the little guests and not one kid would touch it . . . much too "exotic" for their toddler palates, and there was way too much to do to be interested!!

Don't plan it at naptime!!

Good luck!!

My best advise it to keep it simple. I have done big and lavish and small - my daughters hardly remember either... I just did a 4 year old party and I had a craft set out and music and the kids went to the toy shelf and pulled everything out and had their own huge play date. Two is still so little it is really about the adults. Let the kids have their own fun and enjoy your friends. Don't worry Chuck-e-Cheese and Pump-it-Up are coming soon. Save your money for later, when maybe they might remember.

Hi M.!
I just had my daughter's 2nd birthday this weekend. We did it at the park with a great playground geared for 2-5 years, I served only cake and ice cream and provided juice and water (and soda for adults). I also hired a clown that did face painting and balloon animals - she was a hit! The kids loved it and everyone had a great time. No fuss, no muss! and relatively inexpensive. Enjoy your party!

M.,
I'm not sure exactly where you are located, but I own The Kid's Gym in Rancho Santa Margarita. We do birthday parties on Sat.and Sun. You basically rent out our gym for $150.00 for two hours. You have complete access to our preschool room for food and cake and the gym for open play for the children. It is perfect for a 2 year old. Check out the website www.kidsgymrsm.com. The price and info. is a little different on there but will be updated soon. Feel free to give us a call or email if you have any questions.

Take care,
L.
