I second the recommendation of Dr. Elise Harper at Centennial in Frisco. She is wonderful and her staff/office is great too.
I am looking for a female gynecologist that will really listen to my concerns. I am contemplating getting a hysterectomy, but don't really want to. I suffer from very bad cramps, but my periods are not bad at all. My male gynecologist basically says just deal with it. He's prescribed a heavy duty medication for me to take, but it doesn't help. I don't know how much longer I can take it, but I don't really want the hysterectomy. I'd like to talk to someone else who will either explain to me how to deal with what I am dealing with or "talk" to me about what I will deal with after a hyterectomy. If any of you really "LOVE" your female gynecologist, please let me know. I live on the Plano/Allen border so I am ok with Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco.
Thanks! C.
Courtney and Mama C you are the greatest! I went to see Dr. Harper today and she was wonderful! She really took her time with me and we are going to work on some other approaches that do not involve a hysterectomy! I'm so glad!!!! Thank you so much for the referral! And thank you to all the other moms too. I found out that I can not take Estrogen because of my PE, but I can take progesterone which may stop my painful cramping. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Mine is in North dallas, but she would be worth the trip. I go to Amy Sigman at Medical City. LOVE her, and everyone else in that practice for that matter. Her # is ###-###-####

I respect your feelings on not wanting a hysterectomy and to have a caring Dr.
Back in 2001 when I was 40, I opted for a hysterectomy to finally rid myself of the pain and constant procedures. It was the BEST decision I ever made. I truly feel like it gave me a new lease on life. I have never felt better.
I'm 47 now, I did not have the negative side effects of the surgery because I studied about it and did everything possible to prevent it. I look mid 30's, did not gain weight and the patch is a wonderful things for me. I never had to change the dosage or anything. My only side effect was a very positive one.....my boobs grew from a perky large C/small D to a full DD. Still perky and I am enjoying life.
I know there are a LOT of different opinions positive and negative about the surgery. I found a website that gave me loads of information and personal experience opinions (much like a mamasource site) called www.hystersisters.com
Good luck with your decision and best wishes to you.
I recommend Craig Ranch OBGYN....I see Sara Robert and my sister drives 1.5 hours to see Shea Joyner.....
