This flu season is really kickin my butt!!! This will make the 2nd time around I have had the head cold, cough, fever and aches. I am getting a lil concerened. Went to the dr today and of course he said babys heart beat is great and he is growing fine. I have been ranging a fever of normal to 101 for about a day and half now. What fever is too high that I should be concerned? I know that fevers are one of the most dangerous things to have while pregnant. Also... I can not take narcotics (sp) which all drs seem to want to perscribe with cough meds. I can not take antihitimines (sp) either. I am at the moment taking Tylenol cold and cough but it lasts about 2 hrs then I am crazy miserable again. Does anyone know of anything else SAFE to take that will stop my coughing,my ribs are so so sore and help me rest?

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

What can I do next?

L.,

I'm sorry that you're dealing with the flu. I know how rough it can be. My two young children were recently exposed to the flu by their step-mother. My four year old ran a fever, was really achy, and lethargic. My two year old started getting cranky, and at 26 weeks I got a sore throat. The day we started feeling ill I purchased Oscillococcinum. It is a homeopathic remedy for the flu, has been around 65 years, and is very safe. After two doses each, we were all completely well. Since you've already been feeling this way for a while, I would recommend getting Oscillococcinum as soon as possible. I hope you feel better soon. Take care!

This really works. Put some Vicks Vaporub on the bottoms of your feet at night & sleep with socks on, it stops the coughing. I did this with my son & it worked great.

I would work on disinfecting your home, keep GermX everywhere in the house, make sure all your family uses it religiously. Wipe down computer keyboard with some Lysol sprayed on a cloth.

If I'm recalling correctly, and I'm pretty sure I am, I was given Sudafed OTC while pregnant & sick. I was pregnant with #4 and all the children were sick, husband was out to sea and I was sick & pregnant & exhausted. I would ask about Sudafed if the Tylenol isn't doing it for you.

Good luck to you & God Bless.

i am about 16 weeks pregnant and am just getting over being really sick, cough, fever, aches/pains, etc. i went to the urgent treamant center and she prescribed me a z-pac(good strong antibiotics). it's one of the few things you can take while preggo. my ob told me also to take robitussin cf for the cough, lots of fluids, especially water to break up congestion, halls cough drops, tylenol, and lots of rest. i'm feeling much better now, but still dealing with the cough, but it too is getting better everyday.

A humidifier and Vicks vapor rub. I stayed sick all throughout my pregnancy.... Also, ask your doctor first, but you should be able to take Tylenol PM. It is safe and will help you sleep.

my mother in law recommends lemon stew. it's water boiled with lemons in it, a peppermint, and a little honey to sweeten the stew. this is the first time me and my family has had the flu and I hate it. the tea helps but I need something to speed things up so if you have any ideas please help!!!
