$25 Wallmart Giftcard

So I've been taking my daughter once a week to a babysitter, she's been going there for three weeks now and I wanted to give her something for Christmas. I know she does her grocery shopping at Wallmart so I was thinking about giving her a $25 gift card. Do you think it is a cheap gift? I know $25 is not a lot but we are on a tight budget since I am a SAHM and pregnant with our 2nd. Is it OK if I give her that?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your comments! I was re-considering my idea of the gift card (because I thought she might think it's not a thoughtful gift ), but your comments made me realize it was a good gift after all, so tomorrow I'll get it for her.
She's been very good to my daughter so far and deserves a little something this Christmas that shows my appreciation.

I think it's great! Wal-mart has many other thing and if she wants something for herself, she can do that too. I don't think $25, is cheap. I think it's kind and thoughtful!!!

Yes! The thought behind it is wonderful. Have your little one make a card or a little ornament to go with it and you're all set!

For what it's worth... the "rule of thumb" is to tip "one week's service" rate. So, if you are paying around $25 a day, you're okay according to the experts. Personally, we can't afford to do that for everyone, so go with what you can comfortably afford. It's about thanking her for caring for your child when you have to be away.

I think it would be just fine. You do what you can, and its a nice thing that your giving her anything at all. And its to somewhere you know she goes often, so I'm sure she will just appreciate the thought and gift.

Yes thats a great gift. Walmart giftcards are my favorite. I also think thats a very generous gift especially if she only watches her once a week.

I think the whole point of a Christmas gift to an employee is to show appreciation for all of the things they do. It is not an obligation. I think that would be a very acceptable token. At least you know it is something she can use. I am sure she will love i.
