Ok my son is driving me crazy. I had he sleeping through the night and in his own bed at about 15 months old. However that only lasted around three months. Now he will not sleep through the night and he wakes up screaming and screaming. He can go like 2 to 3 hours just screaming and nothing helps. This doesn't matter where he is sleeping becuase he does it when he is in his bed, my bed and my oldest son's bed. Please help, it has become way more then I can take at this point.

I've tired the music and the crying himself to sleep stuff to get him to bed, but that doesn't help him sleep through the night.

What can I do next?

I would consider checking with your pediatrician. I sounds like it could be night terrors. Always make sure he gets a nap during the day - preferably right after lunch and sleeps no longer than 2 hours. You don't want him so overly tired from the day that it causes these episodes. Most of all, I really feel like I need to pray for you - I'm just so sorry that you're going through this. I hope your Dr. has some help for you. God Bless!!

You should probably take him to your pediatrician. It sounds like he has night terrors. The pediatrician can recommend ways to cope with a situation like that. You can also find resources on the internet, such as: http://www.nightterrors.org/
There are links on that site to lead you to other, similar sites.

Hope it helps.

My son, Ben is exactly the same age and I am too suffering from sleep deprivation, I honestly think it's nightmares. He crys in his sleep and then wakes up startled. I had to really start paying attention to what was on the TV. Maybe your little guy is seeing something on TV or hearing something in books with his older brothers that is bothering him........I doubt on number three your letting him sleep too long during the day but every child is different.......The reason I think it's nightmares is that was the problem for my guy. We were watching Toy Story 2 and Woody had a nightmare......I knew it was frightening him and I held him tight and explained everything about it........when Woody woke up.......Ben had this look of understanding that was just too understood...and that is when I knew. We have been sleeping much better since he figured the meaning of a bad dream.
I hope this helps in some way, good luck with your little guy.

Hi J.,
Just try rubbing his back, like giving him a back massage and that will calm him down and hopefully help him get back to sleep. It worked for my son when he would have those episodes. Good Luck.

This is about the time kids start having night terrors. He may really be scared but not awake enough to tell you what is going on. Comfort him and he will get through them. Try to keep him in his own bed though or you will have a bad habit to break later.
