I was wondering if any other moms out there had a late teether. My son cut his first tooth at 14 months and now has only 4 at 21 months. The 2 bottom teeth are abnormally small. I had my dentist look at them and he said they're full teeth and are just small. They have come in a little more since then so now I'm thinking that maybe he is just really slow at growing teeth. I do plan to make an appointment with a pediatric dentist (any recommendations in the Wilmington, MA area?), but I thought I'd see if anyone had a similar problem.
Thank you all for your support. I am happy to report that Ethan is all of a sudden cutting 3 molars at once! It also looks like his canines aren't far behind. Phew!

No worries... at 2yrs old my son had no more than 6 teeth. He spent 6 weeks with his grandmother over the summer and when he returned home (at 27 months) he had a mouth full of teeth. They will appear over night and you'll wonder where they all came from. The good news is that the late teethers seem to have much less trouble/irritability with their teething. He's perfect!
Hi C., not sure if Lexington is to far for you, but my children all went to Dr. Michael Coppe on Muzzey Street in Lexington for their pediatric dentist. He and his staff are wonderful there.

I do know that children have all different sized teeth to accommodate the different sized mouths, but I am not sure of any hindrance with this or if anything is done about it.

My daughter was a late teether!! I honestly cant remb how many at what mth(good mom I am- hu). Shes 27 mths now and has 18 teeth. Im sure they will be coming soon. I wouldnt be suprised if they come up one by one and fast...Good luck
I'm not sure what to tell you about the teeth, but my two children have a great pediatric dentist in Winchester. Dr Harrington at Winchester Pediatric Dental on Washington Street. My youngest son broke his front two teeth at 18 months and they have been fabulous!
