20Th HS Reunion

Mamas & Papas-

Going to my 20th reunion next Sat night. It is in a lounge on 10th ave in NYC, our HS was in the Bronx. I'm toying between wearing dark wash jeans, kitten heels and a black sequined tank top, or wearing a sheath dress red or black. Door price is $150, but that isn't indicative of what to wear as its largely cover + donation.

Going solo without hubs as its a 3 hr affair 6-9. I'd rather do catch up than make introductions.

Thoughts on what to wear?
Thanks a bunch
F. B.

What can I do next?

Hmmm... I like both ideas.

Which one accents your figure better and which one do you feel better in? That's the big question.

The only negative thing I can think about jeans is that this venue sounds a little dressier than jeans.

If you wear the one you are most comfortable in, you will be a lot better off than wearing something you are just so so with. Go with confidence!

Whatever you do, have fun!

Jeans, heels and that cute tank!

I was over-dressed at mine last year and was totally bummed I didn't go with my gut and wear jeans.

My 40th reunion is this year and I am in the same dilemma. I like to dress up but I would like to lose some pounds.

I would rock the red dress if I had the body for it. Pair it with a strappy stiletto sandal and show 'em what you got. Flaunt it sweetie.

Which ever one makes you feel the most fierce! I would vote the dress b/c I do agree that it's better to be over dressed than under dressed...but there is nothing wrong with the jeans and heels if that's what makes you the most comfortable with the most confidence!

I like the sound of the jeans and tank top- sounds cute!! And with sequins and heels, you won't feel underdressed.

Something comfortable! And something you look good in while holding a wine glass. I went to my 10th and I wore strapey heels and took them off the first hour because I did so much standing and walking around. Plus it was hard to resist staying off the dance floor when they started playing songs by BBoys N'98^0 (Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and 98 Degrees).

School reunions aren't sitting down affairs.

I'd go with a dress. It'll be cooler. (Temperature wise) and always better over dressed than under.
Have fun!

Sorry no advice on what to wear, but I just wanted to throw in there that I've been to all my reunions (10, 15, 20 & 25) and never took my husband either - so much more fun without him along! He hates small talk situations so he was just as happy not to be there as I was to not have to explain who everyone was :)

Comfort and what the current weather agrees with is what I would wear.

Wear what you feel comfortable in. I wore a black dress to mine. I didn't have any fun dress up clothes, but I did have a nice black dress that I look and feel great in --so I wore that.

I hated mine, btw. It was great to see a few of my old friends, but I couldn't believe how much no one had changed! It was click city. it was awful.

I would go with the jeans and sequins- let us know what you decide!

Have a great time at your reunion!

Edit:
Hmmmmm.... you have some really good responses here- I may have to change my vote. OnePerfectOne said it best- better to be over dressed than under.

Now for the next decision: black or red? :)

Definitely the dress for a reunion. I've only been to one of mine, but it was definitely dressy. I would have felt underdressed in jeans, even with a fancy top.

If you are nervous about what to wear, you can never go wrong with the little black dress! If you want to show a bit more personality and personal style, go with the sparkly top. Have fun!
