Just wanted to mention to those that say Ford won't last, anytime I am driving I ALWAYS notice older Ford cars on the road. I never see older Toyota cars. I think Ford lasts longer and is better then Toyota. You know you'll be able to stop when you hit the brakes.

I would say the Ford, mostly because the Sequoia gets terrible, and I mean terrible gas mileage! The Expeditions are pretty roomy and they drive like an SUV, which is normal for an SUV!!! If you want a big vehicle it is going to drive like a big vehicle. Personally neither have any more room cargo wise than a van, and front wheel drive works great for us in the snow, so we decided to get a van instead, but if I was going to go for an SUV just because of it, I would get an Expedition, I loved my Explorer, so to me the obvious choice is the Expedition. Oh and the obvious difference is $$$!

I would never buy a toyota again after all the problems the company has had - seems like there is always another issue with them. I also think Ford also stinks - I would go with something like a Hyundai, much more reliable.

Sequoia is way better! If you ask me its steak vs. hamburger! I have had mine for a year now and it is so versatile and roomy! I have had up to 11 people my car. I couldn't be happier! Honestly when I was shopping for cars, I was only looking for an Expedition. I found that they just seemed a little cheaper in the make of them. I was dead set on getting the Ford until my husband saw the Sequoia. I would purchase another in a heartbeat!

Just had to add that we have a 2002 Expedition with 180k miles and have only had maintenance work done to it. We aren't even very good about regular maintenance. We will buy Ford Exped again for our replacement when needed.

Definitely the Toyota! Personally I think the Expeditions look ridiculously huge, and even though the Sequoias are enormous -their body style looks nicer. I say Toyota mainly because it's a better car/truck. It will last far longer with much less worry about break downs and things going wrong.

Ford SUV's are built on Truck frames, therefore they drive like trucks. I really don't like them. My FIL said I was "stupid" in not so many words if I didnt buy an expedition (he had one and thought it was sooo great, even though he couldn't make a u-turn in a wiiiiide road). When I got my Durango, he ate his words! They drive like cars and have as much room, plus slimmer seats, meaning more head room.
I would go with the Toyota in your case, though a friend of mine wanted one SOOO bad, but ended up with a Chevy tahoe because they were the same size-wise, but they got a LOT more bang for their buck...hope this helps!
