Keep in mind products like makeup, lotions, soaps, crayons, glue, markers, play-doh and more also may contain wheat, dairy, and soy

Native Sun is a great resource for foods to eat...they have a label system all set up, as well

There is alot of information out there, trust me.....Ill try to post more when I have a chance.

I know what you meanabout it being hard. My son is on a gluten free/ Cassin free diet (due to Autism) but i have found a few cook books that have helped that cater to kids with allergies. Also there is a website that sells food for people with food allergies. i would google it i don't know thw name off hand. ( i think it is miss Rice foods something like that) (i will tell you it is pricey) but it's worth it. Also there is a store in Oviedo that sells food for children w/ food allergies ( 2 mom's w/ children w/ Autism as well).

As far as for the Dairy Part Rice milk taste almost like regular milk as well as goat milk (but rice is easier to find) Also Pricey. Some stores even Walmart carries wheat free flour and breads you just have to do alot of reading.

But i would look online at amazon for cook books for food allergies ( I found the books looking for books about Autism)They have real good recipies EVEN CHICKEN NUGGETS!!

Hopes this helps

My son is Autistic and is on a special diet that excludes most of those things. I use two cookbooks, part 1 and 2, called Special Diets for Special Kids. They are great and give a lot of info as well as recipes. I highly recommend them!

Hi K.!
We thought my 2 & 1/2 year old had food allergies, because he kept getting rashes all over, turns out he has excema and an allergy to soaps, so I can only bathe him in oatmeal.
Anyway, when I thought he had a food allergy, I subscribed to a website called www.kidswithfoodallergies.org
This is a really great informative site where you can get free recipes for kids with certain types of allergies.
Good luck! I know it's not fun and there's so much out there with dairy and wheat, but there are lots of alternatives, and you can get creative with the different recipes you can download. If you want some recipes, just contact me and I can e-mail you some.
Take care and God Bless!

It sounds like you may want to look up the diet for children with Autism - It is wheat free, dairy free, gluten free so it takes out most of what your daughter is allergic too. Try looking up this book, which my friend swears by and just loaned to me, "Special Diets for Special Kids" by Lisa Lewis, Ph.D. it has recipes, advice and more.

Yes it is difficult to eat healthy in this unhealthy world. Everything is full of stuff we don't need. I personally think that eventually I'll be allergic to EVERYTHING. I never had allergies but since 2003 I've steady become allergic to more and more things.. foods, pollens, grasses, animals.

I just take homeopathics. Then I don't have to escape any of it.
