My son was called "two teeth" for the longest. We didn't think he would grow anymore and all of a sudden, before he turned 1yr, he had 8 of them choppers. So she could just be starting late and getting ready to pop them all at once.

my 2 year old only has 10 teeth, but more are on the way right now. yesterday i asked the doctor and she said the time to worry is if a 2 year old has no teeth.
My son who is now 7, didn't get his first tooth until he was 15months old. His brother (twin) got them right on schedule, but not the other! We were a bit worried since that seemed so unusual and we'd not known anyone whose kid got teeth so late.
The pediatrician assured us it was perfectly normal. Anyway, we were told that is he hadn't gotten his 1st tooth by around 15 months, then we'd have x rays done. And just like clockwork, I told my hubby in the morning that maybe it was time to schedule a dds visit for xrays and sure enough, later that day, his first tooth broke through!
They all came in after that - poor guy sometimes had 2 or 3 coming in at once. And now that he and his brother are 7, his brother has lost 8 teeth while he has only lost 4. The doc and dds both said that he will be losing his teeth just like he got them - delayed.
Since she's had x rays, it should show if the teeth buds are there; so no worries. My guy was eating meats and everything else with no teeth, so I'm sure your daughter is the same. Teeth won't stop the eating! Just keep an eye on things and keep in touch with the pediatrician and dentist. Once I looked into it - like you - I found that this is more common than I expected.
Good luck

Hi S.,
My daughter did not get her first tooth until she was 19 months old. She's now 27 months, and the teeth have been coming in. She has many of her bottom teeth and her molars have finally broken through. On the top, however, she still only has the two front teeth and molars in the back. The doctor has no concerns and neither do I. The teeth will come in their own time. As long as your dentist has no concerns, don't worry. And I must say that just one or two teeth on top looks pretty cute.
