My 2 year old daughter is having a harder time getting her diapers changed... especially her poopy diapers! She fusses and sometimes cries when we have to wipe her in the crack of her bum but mostly inbetween her "woo woo". It's not red at all, and we try to be sensitive. I've even switched up the kind of wipes we use and have started putting a little baking soda in her baths to help irritation if thats the problem. I don't know if all toddlers are like this with poopy diaper changes, or if something is wrong? She doesn't go to daycare so I ruled out any sort of "touching" down there by other people..
Any ideas? I hate to see her discomfort every time I have to change her poopies!

1) Don't use baking soda in the bath.
It is so drying to the skin.
2) Get a spray bottle and fill it with water and
see if you can spray her bottom and front to
get the debris off and then pat the area lightly
to dry.
Irritation can come from the urine in the diaper.
3) Give her water to drink often.

Ours is nearly 14 months and we have a similar problem. We use music and a special "diaper-time" toy when changing any diaper. Seems to help him most of the time .... The key is that he only gets the toy when he's being changed.
Also, we have used a spare hair dryer on low to ensure he's completely dry. He likes the feeling of the slightly warm air and usually stays calmer that way too.

I wouldn't think it's pain as much as not wanting to lie still. Just tell her to be still and it will be done quickly. It shouldn't hurt unless you're wiping too hard.
I just think it's the age. My son hates to have his diaper changed some of the time. Other times he'll sit there happy as a clam. I think they have so much independence now, that they hate to stop for a few minutes to get changed. I do not think it's anything to worry about!
you need to put a very small amount of hand sanitizer on her"whatzit", yeah, that what we can her ..well.. you know. anyway, do this every time she poops in her diaper, and her "whatzit" wont be so sensitive. your daughter might have a low grade uti infection, get that checked out first, then every time you change her poopie bottom, put some hand sanitizer on it to cut down on the chances of her getting another uti..if thats whats happening.

Our daughter's vulva (woo-woo) has always been sensitive. She's almost 4 and she still is. She was potty trained at 2 years 4 months....so she started wiping herself.
Are the diaper wipes you are using warm? If they are cold, that might be the problem.
At, two they are more sensitive there. That little bump is growing with the girl. It gets more attention when your wiping cause its more prominent. Its not very comfortable. My 4 year old daughter (who is completely potty trained) gets toilet paper stuck in there. She asks for me to clean her. I usually use some baby wipes and boy does she howl if I am not less than super gentle.
