2 Year Old Acid Reflux Issues

Does anyone have advice on how to help control the vomiting when it comes to acid reflux. My 2 year old has been suffering from ths since he was about 8 or 9 months. There are times when it seems as if it's better and he may have outgrown it but it always seems to bother him again, eventually. I just want him to be able to enjoy all the good foods his younger brother can.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

They say give him certain foods and monitor which ones make him flare. I do just that. They also give him ranitidine, which doesn't help much. He does okay without it but I'm still trying to find another medicine that works. I don't really like the medicine thing but if it helps, i do try.

I would personally be asking to see a gastroenterologist!

There are some tests (some more invasive than others) as well as a number of drugs that may be helpful...

But, as B suggested, I would be starting to get concerned about longer term damage.

Best!

What does his pediatrician say?
Is he on any acid reducing medication?
I'd be worried that all that acid and vomiting would damage his esophagus and teeth.

Research "Colic calm gripe water". You can get it at Walgreen's or CVS.

Have you had him tested for food allergies?
