I just found out on a meeting from La Leche League that Chiropractors can help with Babies Reflux and Ear Infections. You might try that too.

I HOPE so badly you listen to me about this!! PLEASE go get the book by Dr. Stephanie Cave, What Doctors Dont Tell You About Vaccines". PLEASE do not listen to your doctor that everything is fine and that he DIDN'T have a reaction to the vaccine. BECAUSE he did and you are his mommy and you know in your gut. You are smart to put the two together, because a lot of women brush it off. First of all, Tylenol will deplete Glutathione in the body and Glutathione is in our bodies to help us detox toxins etc. SO we NEED that! Especially when vaccinated. I AM NOT ANTI VACCINE but I DO believe that they are filled with TOXINS and we NEED a safer schedule. My son had 26 diseases and viruses shot in him by 14 months!!! THAT IS INSANE. If you look at all the viruses and diseases in each shot , you add them up! There is a rally and March on Capital Hill June 4 with Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey & 5 thousands others to GREEN OUR VACCINES. My son was a normal happy baby and at about 12 months after MMR he changed and has autism. He would react to vaccines too. There is a safer schedule and you can break up the MMR shot . Most the kids do not need the second boosters. I started going to a homeopathic doctor and he did wonderful things for my son. WIth you, I would try to see one and help with the reaction your son had. Homeopathy can heal the body from the inside out. I know its out there for some. My gut would say.. if you think that vaccines could be an issue.. just wait until he is older to do more. Like even till he is 2.. use your God given mommy instincts.

Don't you think it is interesting that "they" think it is safe to give an 8 week old vaccines before we even know if their little bodies are formed properly?

Also, breastmilk has super immune building properties that can protect our babies from many of the diseases that they are vaccinated for.

This is a sweet time in your life.. hug that baby and enjoy. He will grow up before you know it.

With some children, intestinal reactions from the first set of shots are a sign that he's highly sensitive and his next set could have much more of a reaction. Talk this over with your pedi and if he/she blows you off you need to get a new pedi. These reactions seem subtle, but are a sure sign that your son could have a major reaction with his next set of shots or even his third or forth set. It's accumulative if he's unable to chelate the heavy metals and biological fillers that they contain. I've done 16 years of research concerning this subject, but now you have to do your own.
www.mercola.com, www.909shot.com, www.generationrescue.com are a few places to start. I also encourage you to get a DVD from Dr. Sherry Tenpenny (you can find it on mercola's website). She did 3 years of research of CDC documents that really sheds a light on how effective vaccines really are.
Understand how vaccines work. You owe it to your son and your family. You then have the right to make whatever decision you deem necessary...there are alternatives, even to a vaccine schedule. Be open and honest with your pedi, but bring your knowledge that way you won't be scared into something you know in your heart is not right.

Congratulations on your new baby boy! I am also a first time mom of a 6 month old baby girl and it only gets better as the months go on. First of all concerning the shots, I've done some research on them with my baby girl and yes it is possible that the shots can have a varied amount of side effects for your little one including tummy issues. I also gave the Tylenol before the shots but also when I brought her home I gave her about two more doses of Tylenol whenever the clock said it was allowed. I didn't wait for her to get fussy or feverish. After all they are getting a very slight dose of some yukky diseases - that is how the body is able to build immunity to them. So it makes since that they will feel kind of yukky for a day or so.

But concerning the feeding and gas issues, it sounds like from your letter that you are both nursing him and feeding him sime kind of food. With all the research I've done, he is much to young to be getting anything but milk right now. Our parents generation filled us up with baby cereal as newborns but the research now shows that you shouldn't give a baby anything but milk until they are atleast 4 to 6 months old. First of all his little digestive system is not advanced enough to break down anything but milk and secondly it can lead to various allergies in a child if you force them to try to digest grains and other foods before they are physically ready for them. Trust me the old wives tell that they will sleep more if they are fed cereal is absolutlely not true. My baby girl started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks and is now sleeping a good 12 hours every night - and I've only just recently begun adding some solid foods to her diet. I would suggest using the mylicon drops for his gas issues but also to only give him mommies milk until he is 4 to 6 months old.

Hi W.. Congratulations on the sweet little one. I would agree with the previous poster. It is possible to have side effects from the shots, but if you are feeding him cereal at this age that would probably be the cause of the crying & upset stomach. If I've misunderstood your post & you are only nursing, it could be very likely that he is bothered by something you are eating, most likely dairy products. I had this problem with my now 11 yo. If you think that is the case, try eliminating dairy from your diet. It took care of the problem with mine. The dr. said he might outgrow the allergy. He did for a few years, but now has to stay away from dairy because of stomach issues.

You got some good advice here. I too would recommend Stephanie Cave's book. My son is autistic and I personally believe his vaccinations are a contributing factor to his autism. I am not saying that vaccinations will cause that to happen to your child. I'm just a mom who hase been studying this for a few years and I chose not to further vaccinate my typical daughter or autistic son. This is a personal choice and should be made with information from many sources - both pro and con. Tylenol depletes glutathione which helps our body detox, so I would stick with motrin instead. I just returned from Autism One conference and I met an ob/gyn who said the conference was life changing and would completely change the info to her patients. When you read about the safety of vaccines or the negative aspects of vaccines, see who is funding the research and what the motivation may be - from either side. In my opinion, your pediatrician is only getting one side of the story. Jenny McCarthy is hosting a march in Washington DC on June 4 called Green Our Vaccines. So understand there are two sides to the story, learn about both sides and don't just depend on mainstream medicine to guide you in this very important decision. Good luck

I read your update and have a possible reason why he didn't fuss for the bottle. My daughter has GERD (which some moms have already told you about) and she almost never spits up or throws up. But when I nurse her she cries and arches her back. She also gets hick-ups a lot. All of these are sympmtoms of Reflux. She's on prevacid now which seems to help. Also I have eliminated ALL dairy (check food labels, its in a lot of things) because that seems to make it a lot worse. Anyways, something I have come to find out is that she tends to associated nursing with being in pain and having reflux. Sometimes it seems just the anticipation of nursing makes her extremely upset. This might be why your son took a bottle with out fuss because he may associated getting his milk from you with being in pain. When she refuses to eat I've found that giving her a pacifier and rocking her some helps to calm her done enough to eat. Go see your doctor about these symptoms and be pushy and make him understand what your are feeling. If you don't feel like your pediatrician is taking your concerns seriously enough, go see a Pediatric Gastrointerologist. This is what I did and the doctor I saw was great. If you need a referral send me a message and I will give you his name. Also for his gassyness you might try putting him on a probiotic, I've heard many mom's say that it did wonders for their babies (I just barely started my little one on it). You can get one specifically for babies at Sprouts in the refrigerated vitamin section. But be careful, if you think he has a milk sensitivity, read the labels as a few baby probiotics have milk in them.

Lots of great advice here...just a thought....watch out for reflux, especially since the symptoms started before the vaccines. I would proceed with the shots with caution---in general, that is what we did--but don't rule out reflux as a possibility. My second child gradually got worse and worse until we got a baby prescription for it....it started about this age. I would tell your doctor and be very observant when you go for the next round of shots. I would also see if the leg is sore from the DPT shot. My pedi always put a different color band-aid, so we knew which one was the DPT. It makes the leg very sore. My daughter would cry from what seemed like nothing for a day or 2 and it was actually a spasm in her leg or she would just move and it would hurt. As for some of the other posts, please do whatever research you need to but don't go off the deep end. It is a personal decision, but I could find someone who agrees or disagrees with anything. My son was a very easy baby and screamed for hours after his shots but then seemed fine. After the 6 month ones, the doctor listened and said it sounded like a central nervous system reaction to the "P" part of the DPT (Pertusis). From then on he only received the DT shot and was fine. He has no long term effects, but I panic every time there is a Pertusis outbreak. Unless your child is living in a bubble I would not forgo vaccines without proof positive. Good Luck!

It looks like you got a lot of good advice on the shots from everyone else. I wanted to let you know that if he is getting upset while you are nursing him it could also be that he has Reflux or GERD (Gastro-Esophogul Reflux Disease)or in simple terms, heartburn. They don't always projectile vomit from this, in fact my first son didn't spit-up at all, he had Reflux-Apnea, he would stop breathing and turn blue from it. All 3 of my boys have it and my now 7 1/2 month old has it, the doctor wouldn't listen to me and treat him for it until he was 4 months old and the weight of a 2 month old though. He now takes Prevacid Solutabs, a little tablet that dissolves in his mouth. He is also a very gassy baby and has to have Mylicon drops for that at times when he is uncomfortable from it. Good luck.

Talk to your doctor about it. Some doctors tend to give their patients more vaccines than they should at one time, so I would not blindly accept that. If your doc can't live with that, find another doctor, preferably female.
