My 2-year-old is removing all her clothes AND her diaper in the middle of the night. Then she pees in her crib. This has happened three times in the past week, and several other times during nap time when I've been lucky that she hasn't peed. She's my third child (my older two are 4 and 6), and the older two never did anything like this. My 4th child is 3 months old and still getting up at night, so this extra wake-up for me in the middle of the night is not helping me to be a patient and calm mom during the day! Any suggestions for getting my daughter to stop this behavior? Help!!
This has never happened to me but I know a few friends who actually cut off the feet of footy jammies and then put those on backwards so their darlings couldn't reach the zipper and take them off at nap time and overnight. It worked as silly as it sounds!

My daughter is going through this phase right now! I got sick of laundry so her sleeper jammies now get put on backwards and the feet are a bit weird looking but I can usually manage to twist the legs so they will be on "properly" if the jammies are a bit big on her. I have also cut out the feet on her smaller size jammies and then zip them up as long as they are not too snug in the neck or crotch areas. When she is wearing a 2 piece set I put her diaper on backwards and she did not have it figured out until yesterday and then she just pulled it off like underwear but it worked for the last 3 months!
This might also be a sign for you that she is ready to start potty training! I know my daughter can not stand a wet diaper anymore and will beg to be changed when she is wet. Sometimes she makes it to the potty but not all the time.

My daughter will be 2 in January and she started doing the same thing several months ago. I've been putting duct tape on the diaper so she can't take it off. (The pieces keep getting bigger, though, because she's figuring that out now too.) And I only put her in PJ's that have a snap closure at the top since she doesn't know how to open that. (Although I have seen her and her twin sister on the video monitor when they're both pulling at it trying to get it open. Very funny!!) She can unzip the PJ's but with the snap at the top, she's out of luck!
My son will be 2 in January. He hasn't tried to take off his clothes or his diaper yet, but he did start to take off his socks all the time. I just kept telling him (very firmly) to leave his socks on. It took us about a month, but he does leave his socks on now. He even asks me now if he can take them off. Have you tried telling her that it's cold and she needs to leave her clothes and diaper on? Maybe start punishing her for removing her clothes and diaper, like a time-out or a privelige removed. She's old enough to understand what you are saying. I also agree that she might be ready for potty training. Good luck!
My son did this night-before-last! My husband came up with a GREAT idea that worked perfectly last night. We put his sleeper jammies on as usual, then put a tshirt (not a onesie, just a regular not-too-loose t-shirt) on OVER the jammies, so he could not get to the zipper, nor is he coordinated enough to take off the tshirt. he was totally clothed this morning! Worked like a charm!
Put the clothes on backwards and/or use duct tape on the zipper.
You could try a diaper pin on the zipper of sleepers or sleep sacks - or if they are 2 piece PJs (or clothes) pin them together. BRU sells diaper pins.
My daughter (20 months) does the same thing all the time. At least for you it's only pee in the crib so far.. I had to deal with constant finger painting with the other stuff. Gross. She can undress herself from most anything..overalls, the pj's with the snap collar, etc. If she has an easy outfit on, she will even take the pants off, take the diaper off, throw the diaper behind the crib and put her pants back on.. so I can't immediately tell that she isn't wearing her diaper. The only things she can't get out of so far are like the other posters said..pj's on backwards so the zipper is in the back and snap crotch onesies (I know those are next though, she's close..has gotten two of the snaps undone so far). I have no idea how to help you other than to hope that it's a phase and dress her accordingly in things she can't get out of. Most days I don't even bother getting her dressed unless we are going somewhere since she will get naked while playing also and I don't feel like changing her to the pj's for naps. Reasoning with her doesn't work, at least not yet..I tell her that's "bad" and she tells me "no". So you're not alone.. good luck!
