Have you tried old reliable Midol?
Hello ladies...well the title says it all. I'm finally having my 1st period after having my baby 6 months ago. I also breastfed for 3 months so it's taken 3 months to get my period. Anyways...
I am soooooo uncomfterble. I guess I don't remember my periods ever being this bad. I'm not very moody...but maybe that's just because I'm trying not to be so my husband doesn't have to suffer too. ;)
But I'm having severe cramping. I have a busy week ahead of me and I'm going to the park to do some walking today to see if that helps. I've taken Tylonol and IB Profen, but they don't seem to be working. I have 2 young children and all I want to do is lay down on the couch and not get up. Is there something I can take that is over the counter that would actually work???
Thanks (SO MUCH) in advance!

When I have bad cramps, the only thing that works for me is ibuprofen and those disposable heating pads that you can stick to the inside of your underwear at your belly. The heat really relaxes away the pain. I forget the brand name, but they are usually on the same aisle at the store as the ACE bandages, Icy/Hot cream, etc.
Tylenol is a waste of time. Don't Bother with it. I have had difficult periods since they began. My doctor gave me anaprox which is not alleve. I take 2 at onset and 1 2 hours later. Drink more milk, that will help with the mood swings. I put some chocolate syrup in the milk and that seems to help me. Check with your dr about the alleve, especially if you are still breast feeding.
Try taking the herbal supplement Evening Primrose Oil. I have severe cramps and it helps. I take it along with ibuprofen liquid gel caps.
Midol and a hot chamomille tea seem work for me, hope you feel better.
