My Madison is about to turn the big 1 in August. I am looking for a nice place to host her extravaganza...any where but my home. Does anyone have any ideas?

What can I do next?

I heard the Little Gym has great birthday parties for little ones. There is alot of participation from the parents. The kids really have a blast. Hope this helps out!

Hi E.,

My name is M. & I have 2 boys(10yrs & 16 months)& we never do birthdays at our house. I think I have had 2 at my home in the 10 yrs of my older sons life. I love having parties at parks cause there are playgrounds & other stuff for the kids to do so you don't have to try to keep them entertained. We live in Arlington so the one park we love is River Legacy & Stovall Park. There is a rental fee for the pavillions there but it is so worth it. Stovall now has a water park there also so you could even tell everyone that after the party you would be going to the water park & they have the option of going with you or not. Not sure where you live so you might look on your city's website to find out their parks & all that information. Hope that help's & have a fun 1st BIRTHDAY BASH!

The ever-present Chuck E Cheese is and option. They have a toddler area. Another suggestion is look into the city recreation centers. In Arlington, where I live, there are several wading pools that are neat. I think they're 1.5 to 2 feet deep. I think it costs about $145 to rent one for 2 hours. You can check it out on the web. Hope this helps!

Remember that the first birthday is really a celebration for the parents. Maybe one of your siblings or in-laws would let you use their home to host a get together for the family. Your one year old really doesn't know one day from another. Also, consider the age of the children in the family. If you have mixed ages, an early morning outing at a local park might be a good choice.

If you live in an apt. try the clubhouse. Also the park is always nice (depending on the heat). Gymboree in Arlington does great birthday parties as well.
