OMG...I am SOOO glad you clarified that that cake would be for the baby only :) I just about lost my breakfast until I read that part :)
My ALMOST ONE(!) year old may have a dairy intolerance, and I don't want to find out for sure on her birthday from a reaction to her cake! Does anyone know of a cake (and frosting) recipe I could use for her? No Dairy. OR, can a person COOK with breastmilk, replacing the milk in a recipe? Of course I would only serve that cake to baby :)

Milk is not a common ingredient in cake recipes, so you should have no issues there.
For frosting, you can just used the canned stuff, which typically does not contain any dairy either (what it does contain is scary...but it's not dairy).
Angel food cake is a great option.
If you have enough breastmilk for it, I would go ahead and use it! I once read a book that had a few recipes that included a first birthday cake made with breastmilk instead of cow's milk.
Good luck!
btw- our daughter had a horrible time with dairy (it turned out to be just cow's milk, not cheese or yogurt) so when she turned one, we tried goat's milk and she thrived on it. I don't know if this would help your daughter, but it worked so well for us that I just thought I'd share! :)
I second the Duncan Hines mixes. Check the frosting label for milk. While the milk chocolate flavors typically contain milk regular chocolate/vanilla does not.
If a recipe calls for butter use either Earth Balance or Fleishmann's UNSALTED margarine. Both do not contain dairy.
If a recipe calls for milk, substitute rice milk.
The whole notion of breastmilk makes me ill!!!
For my dairy allergic son, we used duncan hines cake mix and frosting. It is the only boxes that I am aware of without any milk. You do need to read the lable though because they do have a couple flavors with milk. Also, when baking, you can use any milk alternative as a replacement for milk and it should come out fine, breastmilk, soy, rice, almond etc. Good luck!
Yes you can use breast milk , after all that's what dairy is! Almond , hemp, soy and rice milk work fine too . But nothing would be better than your own supply.
I'm not sure why anyone finds this gross , cows milk mostly comes from scabby bleeding udders of an unwilling mother cow. Which by the way is kept near her calf so that his screams will aid her production, either that or they pump her full of hormones. So yeah, moms milk
A lot less gross
.....I'm not vegan I'm just saying
That reminds me when I was making hamburger helper for my husband and I realized I was all out of milk. I replaced the needed 1Cup of milk with one cup of breast milk. (My baby was 6 months old at the time). My husband ate it and couldnt tell the difference. After he ate it, I told him it had breast milk in it. He was like whhhaaatt?? Ooh, thats hot! LOL
I do find the idea a little off-putting, but I found this recipe:

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
Hi ~ This is one of the recipes that I use no milk or eggs needed http://allrecipes.com/recipe/wacky-cake-viii/detail.aspx
and this is the frosting recipe I use to go w/you can sub soy milk for the milk and I use fleischmann's unsalted butter for non dairy butter http://allrecipes.com/recipe/creamy-chocolate-frosting/De... HTH.
I made the cake and icing from scatch for my son's first birthday cake. I just substituted soy milk for milk in the recipes. A quick google search found several dairy free recipes also. Happy baking.
Sugar free cake, no milk or eggs.
I know a couple who puts breastmilk in their alfredo sauce because it's sweeter & creamier! I think it would work fine, and you could probably leave the sugar out of the recipe as well. I have a chef friend who recommends substitution heavy whipping cream for whole milk in ANY recipe to make it more savory, from quiche to desserts, so I think breastmilk fits the bill. Good luck!
If you send me your email address, I will send you a recipe for an absolutely delicious chocolate cake.
Duncan Hines also makes some cake mixes that are dairy free and their Classic Chocolate frosting is dairy free and super yummy.
I don't know the recipe off the top of my head for frosting but Whiltons (I think that's the name of it, the cake decorating stuff is made by them) has one that is made from shortning now milk at all and it's YUMMY!!! And most cakes don't require milk.
Duncan Hines yellow or devils food cake is dairy free. Requires no milk. Or look up the wacky chocolate cake. Pilsbury has many dairy free frostings and cookies. Wiltons also has dairy free frostings to decorate with.
when you say dairy do you mean the eggs or the milk? you can buy dairy free cake mixes and skip the eggs use a substitute i have never made a cake and put milk in it is why i am asking
