My 19 month old currently has quite the cough. It is loose and she has a hard time getting it out so she has been throwing up a bit. Are there any suggestions of what I can do. She does not have any other symptoms, just the cough. Is there anything I can give her or anything I can do?? I just feel so bad for her.

What can I do next?

Hi! I know it sounds crazy....but put a thick layer of vapor rub on the bottom of her feet and put a pair of socks on. I don't know how but it works! Good luck :)

When my little guy has a cough I also give him a little tea with lemon and honey. It works like a charm!!!

Here is a good homemade recipe. 1tsp of raw honey, 1T of squeezed lemon or Santa Cruz lemon juice (the other stuff is just dyes and fillers, little lemon) and 1T of water. Melt the honey and mix altogether and drink. It should help ease the cough, and it tastes good. Honey is a good natural cough syrup. You can just give your toddler a tsp of raw honey melted too.

Good Luck.

Hope your little one feels better soon! Have you had her to the doctor to check for whooping cough? When my kids have a cough we usually give them a nice long warm bath and put Vicks vapor rub on their chest before bed. It doesn't work miracles but it does seem to ease their suffering a bit.
