19 Month Old Not Eating His Veggies!

My 19 month old has decided that he doesn't like any vegetable, period. He used to love all of his veggies when he was younger and then one day, no more. I've tried everything and I'm beginning to wonder if I should resort to supplements in order for him to get the nutrients he needs from vegetables. He eats fruits, proteins, and grains with no problem, but not eating vegetables is a huge concern for me as I want to instill healthy eating habits in him early, and of course, he is a growing boy that needs his veggies.
I began pureeing his vegetables and adding them to his regular foods (carrots in mac and cheese and meatballs, etc) but I can't continue this forever.
Does anybody have suggestions? Specifics that have worked for them?

What can I do next?

I'm a big fan of offering finger foods. Carrot sticks, broccoli florets, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes cut into chunks. I must confess, though, that my 20-month-old is going through a similar hunger strike....although he's not eating veggies OR fruit! I don't worry to much, though, because he's still nursing, but I just keep offering and hope he accepts them once again. In the meantime, I give him some Superfood Juice (its green and looks horrible, but it tastes like a tropical smoothie!) which has tons of fruits and green veggies that he needs. Good luck!

That is the most normal food quirk for a toddler. My daughter was exactly the same! I just kept on offering them and after a few weeks she started eating them again - now on and off and a little more picky.
One thing I found is that often she will like to snack on veggies while I cook, but will not eat them cooked. So I let her have some pieces of raw veggies while I prep our food. She will eat celery and snow peas raw, but won't touch them in cooked food.
She also does pick out veggies when they are mixed with other things, but will eat them when served separately.
Just keep on putting them on his plate! Most kids will eventually start eating them if you keep offering. Don't make a big deal out of it... it will just make it a control issue.
Good luck.

that is about when my son stopped eating veggies too. i do the same sneaking them in and continuing to offer them in solid form. we eat lots of veggies so he sees us eat all the time. he is 22 months now and the other day actually asked for a carrot stick. so i am hoping he is coming out of it. he will eat corn but that is about it. (i confess i absolutely did not like any veggies until i got pregnant with my son) from a young age on they made me gag and throw up if the were cooked. i could eat raw carrot and green beans but that was about it. so i dont blame my son.

We serve our 23 month-old the veggies first before we serve any other part of the meal. This usually ensures that he eats at least some of the veggies because he is hungry and ready to eat. We also don't make a big deal out of any food rejection. It is like any toddler behavior - if they get a reaction from you, they are more likely to continue the behavior.
