I got to Arvella at Cloud 9 in Highland Village. I don't do a full color but I get highlights with two different colors and a cut for $105.
I recently got my hair highlighted as a birthday present to myself and I was shocked to get the bill - $175 for the hightlights and a cut. It's been about 2 year since I've had highlights but I don't remember it being THAT expensive. What is the going rate for highlights? Now that I've started I would like to keep up with them but I can't keep paying that amount of money! If you have a good stylist who does highlights for a reasonable price in the Grapevine/Colleyville area, please let me know!

My hairdresser is in Southlake and I only pay $50.00 for partial highlights and lowlights and a cut. Of course I tip her 20% and she is wonderful! Her name is Debbie and her # is ###-###-####. Tell her B. sent you! The only catch is that she asks that if you want to receive the $50 price that you commit to getting your hair done every 6-8 weeks. I have been longer in between touch ups and if that happens I just discuss the price up front and she usually only charges me $25 more if I have gone over 10 weeks. She is a wonderful stylist.
I have done hair for 14 years. That is a pricey amount for highlights. There were girls at my salon that charged that. Because they could and people paid it. They were no better than the highlights from the 100.00 stylist. In fact the girl that did the best was a 100.00. It all depends on if you are willing to pay that. Great highlights can be found for less. Now if your hair is super long and thick....175.00 is not too much.
Edited to add: maybe I should start doing more hair out of my home. Shoot I could pay a few bills with that...hehehehe
That could make a fun playdate...hair color and playdate together. I think I am on to something.
It's not crazy if it's the first time you had it done in a long time - likely, it was highlights & color & cut....on subsequent visits, it should be cheaper, as long as you keep it up - it would be maybe a partial highlight, a partial color, etc. Look at your bill & see what all the itemizations are to see what the real costs were. To keep my costs down, I alternate what I get done - we do the highlights one time, and the next we do the all over color & touch up, etc. The trick is to just keep up with it, then it's not as costly.
I know someone who works out of her home <used to work for regis and jcpenney> she charges $95 for hi lights and a cut.. shes in arlington though
I go to a lady in Lewisville, and she charges $70 for highlights and cut.
That's more than what I pay. So yes, that is pricey.
Yep, for a cut and highlights it is pretty average. I wish I could help you on a good place at a good price. If I could find that I would go back to highlights myself :) Best of luck to you.
