All I would offer is it's the "poor nurse's" JOB to be there to answer any & all of your questions! Never hesitate to call if you have questions or concerns! Good luck!
I have 2 children ages 13 and 14 so needless to say I don't really remember everything that happened the last time I was pregnant. I am 17 weeks pregnant today. I may be overreacting since I miscarried the month before I got pregnant and I hope this is not TMI, but...
I have been getting the round ligament pain which is pretty normal. I also have been getting these weird vaginal and anal cramps. Sometimes they are sharp enough that I actually have to stop mid-movement and just sit there for a minute or 2. They then subside. They are not like labor pains or contractions. And they are very sporadic (sp). They are just weird. I also went to the zoo two weeks ago and was walking around for about an hour and a half in 98 degrees. It was absolutely horrible. I went to the ob the next day because I had started spotting. She said not to worry unless it continued for 2 weeks then to call. It actually stopped in 2-3 days. I hate to call the poor nurse because it seems like I am calling her every other day. Thanks in advance for any advice you have. =)
Just wanted to let everyone know that I did call my dr.'s nurse and she very sweetly told me that there would be little aches and pains since everything is stretching and getting pulled out of shape, but it was all normal. She was also very happy to hear that the spotting had stopped and reassured me to call any time.
Thank you all for all of your wonderful advice!! You mamas are amazing!!

I understand where you are coming from, my daughters are 17 and 2 years old. I suffered many miscarriages. The advice my doctor gave me when I found out I was pregnant again was to take it easy; the first 3 months practically no walking around unless going to the bathroom or to get something to eat. Then until 5 months, walk around for only 10-15 minutes, no extreme heat, sit as much as possible with the feet propped up, don't stress. (amongst a few other things). By the time I was 6 months along it was smooth sailing and I could do whatever I wanted. I had a holistic doctor and a regular obgyn with both their advice we finally had baby#2 after suffering numerous miscarriages. So take it easy as much as possible and keep your feet propped up while staying cool. Because I had the same thing going on and it helped alot. Never be ashamed to call your doctor's office that's what they are there for. All will be okay; just take extreme care.
You call that nurse or doctor as many times as you need to. They get paid good money to answer your calls.
I had lots of aches and pains with my third pregnancy. From about 30 weeks on, every time I walked across the room I'd get stabbing pains. I was sure something was wrong, but everything was fine. But definitely call and describe what has been going on because every pregnancy is different.
You have every right to be concerned about YOUR body and YOUR baby!!! Call the nurse and if you need, for your sanity, make an appointment to see your doctor and request a sono. It's all about you and bringing that little one into this world healthy!!!
It's probably nothing, but it is always better to make sure! :)
Call her. Stop worrying about the poor nurse. You would rather be safe than sorry. It is probably just normal pains, but you need to be checked out to be sure.
Call.
are the anal and vaginal pains sharp? if so, i had them too. i never said anything to the dr. because i didn't think it was a big deal. i went to disney in about 90 something degree weather when i was pregnant with my son and walked for hours. the dr told me as long as i was hydrated i would be fine. i had a lot of contractons starting early with my daughter and son and had to take medication throughout both pregnancies starting at about 10 weeks with my first and earlier with my second. i spotted a with my first a few months into my pregnancy. freaked me out. but again things were fine. i called the dr all the time :) and also went in a lot and ended up in the hospital because of the contractions and on monitors for hours. i would just do what everyones telling you and call the dr. because that's what they are there for, and they also get paid VERY good money.
Call the nurse. Dont hesitate. When I was pregnant I used to call the nurse every other day. The nurses didnt hate me. They were very friendly and just by telling my name they would pull up my record. It is their duty. Goodluck with your pregnancy :)
