My 7 yr old who has allergies that cause her asthma, had a bad cough that kept her up as well. She ended up with a slight case of pnemonia. I would have your daughter checked out by the doctor.
my daughter has had a cough for 2 weeks now that keeps her (and I) up at night...she has no fever or other issues, just this deep hacking cough (mainly at night). Any suggestions?

I used to elevate the crib by putting a pillow under the mattress. I also used a warm mist humidifier with Vicks menthol oil in the medicine reservoir. With my third child I even rubbed the Vicks oil on the bottom of her feet and put socks on her.
Watch out for lethargy. If she is unusually sleepy or has a dazed look, that is bad. My son had a bad cough and it turned out to be RSV, which is a respiratory virus. His oxygen level was down and he needed a nebulizer breathing treatment.
Good luck
I would get her checked out first to make sure it's nothing serious. If it's just a cough, try giving her a tablespoon of Buckwheat honey before bed. It has been proven to work just as well as cough medicine but is obviously more natural. Make sure it's the Buckwheat kind. It's available in health food stores. I got mine at Fruitful Yeild in Schaumburg, but I'm not sure where you're located.
Good luck!
Go to the doctor...2 weeks of a hacking cough is too long to go without checking it out. She could have post nasal drip or a sinus infection. Both of our daughters would get sinus infections as a baby and the youngest has always had horrible nasal drip. The symptoms of both get worse at night...and our daughters didn't always have a fever with the infections. A cool mist humidifier helps a lot with the hacking at night. We have one that you can adjust the amount of spray. You need first off though to go see your doctor..if you try to just fix it at home and there is an infection she could really have issues. If it's just nasal drainage at least you'll be sure.
