Does anyone know of some gyms in the area that are good for pregnant women? I would think the private gyms might be best? I worked out prior to becoming pregnant but have been suffering from nausea and all-day sickness and haven't felt like doing anything until now.

Congratulations! Kudos to you for even thinking about working out when you are nauseated! I loved going to Fitness Forum on Chandler & Dobson with both of my pregnancies. The class instructors are great at providing modifications for all levels, there is a pool, and treadmills are available during peak hours! They also have reasonably priced personal training. Best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy and baby!
J., any gym is fine. I worked out at Lifetime Fitness until the day I gave birth. There are lots of pregnant women there. The biggest thing you need to be aware of is not getting your heart rate over 140. You should really use a heart rate monitor to make sure it stays low enough. You can't believe how quickly it will go over 140 so you must be careful. Enjoy!
Hi J.,
I would recommend LifeTime Fitness on Warner between Lindsay and Gilbert road! They also have a couple other locations in AZ. I have 3 kids and have been going there for 5 years now. They have a class called rock-n-stroll. You can take it pregnant and when the baby is born you can take them to class with you! The instructor tells you modified movements for different trimesters or stages of postpartum. I have tried other gyms but this one is the best for child care once your baby is able to go to the daycare. They love our children and recognize them by name. We really love it there!
