I have a 15 month old whom completely freaks out when she is laid in her crib while she is fast asleep. I have been sleeping with her due to croup, bronchitis, ear infection, pink eye and on and on....so now when I try to re-establish a good sleeping pattern, she is not having anything to do with it. I know this is a common problem, but if anyone has any tips. Should I put her in a toddler bed, mattress and take the crib out of the room? She sleeps great in a regular bed with pillows all around her, it's just she hates the crib....or at least that is what it seems like to her Father and I. Thanks for any help.....

What can I do next?

Buy a good toddler bed. If she is more comfortable in a 'grwon up bed' she is ready to be out of the crib. If you have stairs put in a gate so she doesn't wonder around. Toddler beds are low to the ground so it won't hurt if she falls out. Good luck. S.

If she seems to be ok in a bed, I'd just move her. Also, if she still has trouble sleeping, check out “GOOD NIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT: The Sleep Lady’s Gentle Guide to Helping Your Child Go to Sleep, Stay Asleep and Wake Up Happy”

My little girl started having trouble sleeping around 11 months. She would wake in the night and cry and we were exhausted. My husband decided he was going to get the toddler bed out, I was nervous about it, but it worked great! She started sleeping in her toddler bed at 12 months and has never had a problem. I didn't give her any pillows just a blanket and her favorite doll, she has slept through the night nearly every night since then. She loves having her own bed and her own space. It might be worth a try!
