I used baby oil on my daughter when she had cradle cap. Try that and see if that works, her's never came back. Dont put lotion in here hair. Thats where I messed up.
My little girl is 15 months old and still has flaky crakle cap. I got a cradle cap wash and was able to get it all off, but it always comes back. Is there a way to make it go away for good???

It may be time to switch to a dandruff shampoo. Although even a yeast infection can create this type of problem. My middle boy has a spot on his head that we have to treat regularly. Dandruff shampoo, Mupirocin, and Lotrisone for about a month. The key is to keep their nails trimmed really short during an outbreak to keep them from spreading it.
Hi H.,
My best advice is to switch to naturally based products, read labels, no harsh chemicals of any kind.
I changed my life by doing that (I buy everything through a wellness company). It feels really good to know that whatever you are using is safe for your kids, and all of those problems will go away for good.
No matter the brand you choose, it makes a huge difference.
Hope your baby gets better soon.

My daughter is 5 five months old and I just got rid of her cradle cap. We were on vacation in Florida. We used sunblock.. We put some on her head so she wouldn't get sunburned and then it just started to come off. She is now cradle cap free.
adult t - gel shampoo wash pretty rough maybe with a clean scrub brush or even a toothbrush but not so it hurts- be sure not to get it in her eyes because it's not tear free - one time should get rid of it
I fondly refer to it as "Cradle Crap", I hated that stuff. When you wash it, lightly scrub it off with a soft hair brush, you are likely do that already, the key it to keep it moisturised right after the wash. I used the Equate Brand of "Eucerin", rub a small amount on it. It will get smaller and smaller. And use a seperate hair conditioner. You might try a little Head n Shoulders too, it has a small amount of medication in the shampoo that should help.
Also you might ask your ped about allergies, they can make it worse. Good Luck.
Hi H.. I would take her to a dermatologist. I could be something else. I have had excellent service from Johnson County Dermatology for myself and my 3 year old. They get you in fast too. Their number is ###-###-####. I usually see Jessie Watts, but she is currently on maternity leave. Good luck and congratulations on baby #2!
I second the allergies, esp. if she has eczema or colic.
This wash is great for cradle cap: http://www.californiababy.com/tea-tree-lavender-shampoo-b...
Hi H.,
I would recommend getting a baby oil that is all natural (no mineral oil) and rubbing it on her head then taking a come to help brush some of it off. After several applications it should go away.
My daughter is 14 months and started out with a serious case of cradle cap. I am an Arbonne Consultant and was told by my fellow consultants to use the Arbonne Baby Oil since it contained natural oils instead of mineral oil and I was honestly amazed at how quickly it worked. I still use the Baby oil on her whole body after bath time and haven't had any issues.
Hope this helps!
My little girl in now 7 months and bless her heart, she had bad cradle cap. The only thing that helped was a product called Medula Newborn Shampoo it is in a pump and is a foam. I also use a cradle cap brush to gentle lift off the dry skin. Babies R Us, Sephora, carry this product.
Good Luck
My son had bad cradle cap and the only thing that worked for me was baby oil and a toothbrush:). I rubbed his head with baby oil, and scrubbed it gently with a toothbrush and it started to flake away. I thought I would have to do it several times, but once did the trick and we never had problems again. It leaves their hair a little greasy for a couple of days, but it was worth it for me!:). Good luck!
