What's a good idea for this? I don't drink, so I feel weird bringing alcohol...but it's an option. It has to be good for women or men.

Ideas?

What can I do next?

I think the As Seen on TV items are always fun. For my family gift exchange I bought the Justin Bieber singing toothbrush. They always hate my gifts so I thought I would really give them something to hate this year.

Rachel:

Go to Home Goods or Tuesday Mornings - they have great pre-packaged gifts from $8 and up...chocolate basket...coffee basket...

I would go to my grocery store and get some coffee beans - Dunkin Donuts or some other brand - get a good coffee cup and some candy in a basket - would be good for man or W....

My hubby's work exchange was yesterday. Someone brought a remote control helicopter they found on sale....everyone wanted that one. The other fave (Beside the booze) was a gift card for a video store rental place. THe bought a $10 card and put in with a popcorn tub a movie candy.

OMG the opportunities are endless...I just got a cute ice scraper with a down mitt over it for $10 at Eddie Bauer. They also have these cool screwdrivers with different heads stored inside. Think outside the box. I don't know your area but Restoration Hardware has a lot of fun little things like this too.

Starbucks gift cards are always a huge hit. Or iTunes, or Amazon. People can use those, and it won't be thrown away or stuck in storage somewhere. It won't add to the clutter. It doesn't offend anyone. Simple, and so enjoyed.

Lottery tickets, a movie gift card, or a fast food restaurant gift card nearby...thats probably what I would do.

How about a coffee or tea gift set? Or a Hallmark ornament.

OK. My suggestion is $5 gift card to Starbucks, A $5 gift card to McDonald's or Wendy's (somewhere that has a value menu) and $5 worth of scatch-off lottery tickets. How cool would it be if they won money for Christmas?

Gift certificate for a car wash - do you have a Car Pool close by? I have used those in several gift exchanges and people always fight over them - everyone HATES to wash their car but LOVES having it clean!!!

2 things that I have gotten that were both useful and not a normal work gift were a small fire extingusher (nice to have in the kitchen or out in the garage) and a throw blanket. I got some at Kolh's last year that were super soft and close to the size of a twin size blanket. I think they call it "The Big One."

We do a $10 exchange at work. We have everything ! Bottles of wine, lottery tickets, household decorations, coin counting machines, small tool kits, chocolate, platters, etc. You name it we have probably had it. This year I took a set of Rubbermaid containers.

lets see, the tiems that went over big with us were liquor and the gag gifts. Anything naughty from the embarassing store. But if you dont drink, you probably wouldn't want to do that! ;) Other things that were coveted were crosses. There was a pretty cross on a stand and a candle in a cross candle holder that was beautiful. There were lots of oohs and ahs when those were unwrapped. I brought a $10 fluffy blanket from Sams and it was fought over. Also anything Harley Davidson. The guys were all fighting over a Harley Tee and a Harley Christmas ornament.
