If you're still nursing, I'd take a couple days and stop solids and nurse on demand around the clock. When kids that young have stomach problems, they need to be on "gut rest" for at least 24 hours and then slowly re-introduced to bland, mushy solids. Obviously, the added benefit is that your milk is so much better than anything like Pedialyte to keep her from getting dehydrated.

Are you confident in her doctor? I am concerned that you do not seem to have trust in this doctor, and after everything you've been through, I don't blame you. I think now is the time to seek a second opinion. A good doctor will not be offended if you seek a second opinion, and another doctor may be able to give you a fresh perspective on everything your daughter has been dealing with, and may even have fresh ideas about why and how she is getting sick. You do not have to give up seeing your regular doctor for standard check-ups and such, but now is a good time to see if anyone else can offer some insight.

It does sound like a stomach flu. My twins were premies and have been really prone to this over the years. So, we've become pros at this. I help them while they're puking, husband cleans up. What you need to do (and of course it's hard with that little of one because they don't understand)...but give them room temp gatorade, NOT WATER, give it to her 1 tsp every hour and that's it. After a couple of hours if she's keeping that down go to 2 tsp and as long as that goes well, then move to every 30 min. Don't worry about her not eating, totally not a big deal!!!! If she doesn't want it, don't worry!!!! She's not hungry. I don't know what area you're in, but right before x-mas there was a nasty stomach bug starting to go around.

Also, is she still having wet diapers? If she is, then she's not getting dehydrated. If it gets a dark color or doesn't have one all day, then she's heading towards it. Goodluck, it will get better soon. If this is the first bug she's had then it's always scary. It will get better. Also, my daughter would always take about 2-3 weeks after having a flu to get totally better. It would trigger her oral sensory issues and some things that she totally would eat, she would gag on and throw up. Also, if you haven't been told, do very bland foods, toast, crackers, applesauce, eggs, etc. Goodluck

I went through this when my son, 5years old now, was 2. He was vomiting alot due to the increase of secreations. My PED was really great she put him on Albuterol breathing treatments when we found out he had Viral Pneumonia helped some until it turned into bacterial and that was 5 days after his xray that showed viral. He ended up in the Hospitol for 4 days on IV antibiotics. I would keep calling your Dr. you know your child better than anybody. Don't go against the motherly instinct it's normally always right. Hope this helps.

I went through the same thing and the ped kept telling me that it was viral and sending us home. I kept going back till they finally prescribed antibiotics and that cleared everything up.

Just watch her. If she starts seeming lethargic, I'd take her to the ER again. Watch her fever...if it gets above 102 take her to the ER. know this isn't much, but I hope it helps. Hope she feels better soon.
