i think its chicken pox. my daughter never showed a fever till like day 5. after the started to dry up. better let the dr look at them
Hey Mama's'
Our son started getting red spots on his arms and legs and tummy this afternoon and they have multiplied. I'm thinking he's having an allergy to something so thought I'd ask what to do in such a situation? We put a call into the on-call doctor but was curious if anyone has any thoughts on what this is and what to do, if anything? Benadryl for children? We are new parents so have no clue at all!
Thanks for any input you can provide:)
Thanks for your responses mama's!
So my son has no fever, isn't itchy, and is acting fine. I just talked with the on-call doctor and she said young children can get a similar type of rash just before or after coming down with a virus (cold or flu) so to keep an eye on him for more symptoms and bring him in if additional symptoms happen. I guess if it were more like a welt that itched it would be an allergy thing but small red dots (if vacinated for measles) are what she called a "viral rash". Hmmm....fascinating!

My daughter had something similar... And we were told is was roseolla... Its a rash they get sometimes after having a fever. It shows up a day or 2 after the fever goes away.apparently it's common and a lot of kids get it. My daughters cleared up within 2-3 days... Hope your son feels better soon!!! =)
Sounds like alot of things. Call the doctor. Could be a reaction or even chicken pox.
Hmmm? Could it be chicken pox?
Even if vaccinated, you can still get them...
Is he running a fever?
