11 Month Old Losing Hair

Where are the patches? If on the back of the head it could be from lying on her back too much but I would most definitely put a call in to your pediatrician on Tuesday and ask about this because it could be something else. L.

I would say it's normal if her scalp isn't red or irritated where she lost the hair. I have heard of babies who are born with a headfull of hair losing the baby fine hair and then the thicker hair growing in...my kids were bald until around 18mos so I just waited and waited and waited until they finally had some! Had to stick tape on a bow to put on my dd's head until then.lol. If your daughter's scalp is irritated or flakey, she may have eczema and that could cause her hair to come out also.

do she put on the back of her head she will lose her if not it could be the cats pulling out her hiar too. i would watch them for a while.

Please take your daughter to the doctor. She may have propecia or she may have a more serious condition.

I have an eight year old boy that had the same thing happen. He was born with a full set of hair and eventually lost most of it in the back and some on the sides. The Dr. said it was from him sleeping on the same spot all the time. I used time find little pieces of hair in his crib where his head had been laying. I also have a 10 month little girl who like her brother was born with a full head of hair and so far she has kept it, I'm hoping she does, b/c I'm enjoying putting her long hair up in pigtails!! Rest assured, it will grow back!!

My daughter did the same thing.. we just took her to a dermatiolgist in jan. and he gave us a PhX shampoo for what she had. and since then her hair has stopped falling out and is geting thicker and thinker everday.
When you say she is balding .. does she have like a crusting on her scalp? like really bad dandruff?
if so i would see about getting her in to a doc. and having them give her the PHx.
