10 Weeks Pregnant and My Complexion Looks Horrible

So I am 10 weeks pregnant and my face is just going downhill. I look like a pubescent kid with all the breakouts. It's awful. I don't recall my other 2 pregnancies being this bad (I know each one is different). Has anyone done anything that helped them?

What can I do next?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
My face was HIDEOUS with my first. As was my chest, back and arms. I was covered in acne, and my face was covered with cystic acne.

I was normally someone that had totally clear skin.

Honestly, not much worked for me. I eventually developed a routine of holding a hot washcloth on my face at night (draws the toxins to the surface), and then benzoyl peroxide. (No, it didn't not hurt either of my kids.)
I did discover a product called Buffering Lotion from Mario Badescu.
www.mariobadescu.com. It was the only thing that helped my cystic acne heal faster. Not go away...but heal faster.
I'd put that only nightly.

Good luck.
On the plus side, I will say that after I had the baby, everything went back to normal. But that's a long 9 months to endure. :(

Hi T.. You are not alone. I normally have 'good skin'. During my fourth month, my face broke out horribly. I was told by my dr. to use gentle soap (cetaphil) and nothing else...Hmmm.... It did go away in about a month or so...if that helps :)...and i used a good makeup that made me feel better ....

If you would like to go beyond soap and water I would consult with your doctor as there are things that during pregnancy that are not advised to put on our face.

Sorry I cannot offer more advice, only again, that this too shall pass soon.

I am 17 weeks pregnant and having the same problem. I have not experienced this since my first pregnancy many years ago. It could be the weather or, in my case, age;)

If you're like me, it's only going to get worse. Sorry.

With my first pregnancy my face cleared up as smooth as a babys bottom and then when she was born I broke out like crazy. Then instead of breakouts I went through a ton of hormonal hell and weird rashes and swelling around my eyes. Then I got pregnant with my second and Im thinking AWESOME, my face will clear right up again - W-R-O-N-G!
My face took a S**T kicking. Then I thought, no worries its all just hormones and once Im not pregnant it will get better - W-R-O-N-G again. Then I went okay as soon as Im done breastfeeding I can focus on my skin and be able to use something topical that I cant use while pregnant or breastfeeding if need be. It was def. a need be situation. I stopped breastfeeding her at 13 months and its been 5 months now since Ive stopped and my face is a hot mess. I haven't used anything major yet but I do use tea tree oil which is a well known acne fighter. If another few weeks of this doesn't work Im going back to Proactiv. I hope I wasn't harsh with my answer I just wanted to point out that its not necessarily the pregnancy that's doing it but I hope for your case that you get a handle on it because I know first hand how much it sucks to deal with adult acne

Good Luck and Congrats on the baby to be =0)
