Hi Moms,

My son has 10 friends sleeping over next weekend for his 7th birthday... Trying to think of easy things to do with them. Suggestions? We live in S. Florida so we can still go in the pool, play a team sport at the field, but what else? Bedtime will be a movie of my son's choice put on.

Party is from 4pm-11am

Dinner will be a bunch of pizzas and breakfast will be dunkin donuts. Making it easy on us..

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Those who gave suggestions, thank you...

It might seem crazy, I agree, but I've had 5 kids sleep over at one time and I handled it fine. I'm not to worried about them (it's a very good group of boys, well most of them lol) I'm worried about the entertainment...I just pray it doesn't rain lol

I probably will take a few aspirins before they arrive though :)

Send them outside with a bunch of cans of the cheap silly string from the dollar store! I didn't realize what a big hit it was going to be at my son's party. I wish I had bought more!! They also had water guns.

As for bedtime I just had everyone bring their sleeping bag and pillow and they all camped out on the floor.

Have fun!!

Yes, take a Valium. 10 boys, pool party and sleepover. I hope you have plenty of adults on hand at the pool. Or did you hire a lifeguard. I do not know what to suggest, because this is something I would have never done. 10 boys will just want to run around like lunatics. Bolt down the furniture! Somehow I cannot see them all sitting quietly for a movie. Good luck!

Make sure you wear them out!

We're planning a big slumber party for my 11 year old daughter. After reading your post I'm wondering which will be crazier. Ten wild, six year old little boys or 10 hormonal middle school age girls. Good luck!

When my son turned 6 and 7 we had a bug scavenger hunt, gave them little bug catchers from the dollar store, and scattered plastic bugs all over the yard, They loved it!
For summer birthdays we did Water balloons, and slip and slide

Treasure hunt? Write up a series of clues leading them around the yard..... have something special as the "treasure" at the end.... my kids have always enjoyed that.

Have you considered therapy? (kidding...mostly)

We did this for age 8 (no pool though - no way). It may never happen again.

good luck

Have a before bed swim to tire them out. Make it clear that bedtime is bedtime and plan on sleeping on a couch in there general vicinity. Have more snacks available before bed.

How fun.
Be sure to have lots of extra snacks on hand (chips, pretzels etc). Boys
tend to eat/snack a lot.
I think your idea of swim & playing on the sport field are a great idea esp
the pool.
You could play a video game at night if you're into that like xBox or Wii.
Or they have that video game truck you could rent for an hour or two.
Be sure to have extra bats, mitts, baseballs, basketballs on hand etc.
The movie at night is a great idea!

Wow, you're a brave lady. I am thinking the park would be a good idea, they can bring kites or balls to play soccer and other games. I think Chuck E. Cheese would be way too expensive, and same with other places like the water taxi, zoo or city attractions. If they like alligators and walking, you can go to the Everglades down south, around Homestead, admission is free and you can stop at the different points of interest and see wildlife and plants, just make sure to pack some insecticide. If they know how to swim, you can try the beach, but it may be a challenge to keep track of 10 kids. I believe Oleta River Park has a nice lagoon, so no worry of rip tides, and they also have hiking trails, I just don't know if there's an admission fee for the lagoon.
