HI! Have you tried to putting it in a sippy cup. I agree that he needs the nutrients from formula until he's a year. so I would try putting it in a sippy cup.
My 10 month old is not wanting his bottles during the day...at nite time i have no problem, he wants a bottle. However, during the day he doesn't want to take the bottle, he would rather have baby food. I just dont want him to miss the nutrients that he may need! Other ppl have said that he may be weaning himself off of the formula since in 2 months he will be on regular milk, but i dont know...I have 2 other kids and they never did this... I'm sure that someone else may have experienced this, what did you do?
thank you all for the response..he is drinking from a sippy cup but a bottle at nite time right now. but i am going to ask the dr when he goes sometime this week!

Have you tried giving him a sippy cup instead. You can still give him the formula but just in a cup. What does his doctor say. It doesn't seem all that bad that he would rather eat than drink. Maybe you can supplement with vitamins to ensure he's still getting everything he needs. Good luck.
It's past time for your son to drink from a sippy cup, so let your son see if he wants to drink from a sippy cup. My children's pediatrician said that they should try drinking from a sippy cup when they were 6 months old.
Hi D.,
There are foods that will give as much if not more nutrition than formula. Avocado is a perfect food with the most nutrients, the right kind of fat and a perfect texture for baby. Almond milk or pudding is a good source of protein. Baby food fruits and green veggies should supply a lot of nutrition as well.
God bless!

My now 8 yr old self weaned at 8 months just before she started walking. check out sippy cups with soft spouts. Nubby makes some good cheap ones.
I'll add in that my dd did the same thing. I breast fed when w/ her, pumped for bottle for daytime. Around 10 months she would only drink 2 oz or so from the bottle so I switched her to a sippy cup. Once stored milk ran out I switched to whole milk in sippy.
my daughter was done with the bottle by ten month's and on regular milk.with a sippycup, have u tried a sippycup?
try putting the milk in a sippy cup to see if he can do that...may make it more exciting
your lucky & dont even know it, lol.......i breastfed my son til 10 mths then he only wanted a sippy.....i talked to his ped & she said just give him whole milk from now on.....i was pregnant & i wasnt producing much milk to pump so he just started on whole milk.....he never took a bottle at night so he was totally on sippy cups.....he started taking a sippy at 5 months so he was used to it....there are plenty of ways for your son to get his nutrients not just thru formula.
My daughter did the same thing. She was the youngest in her group at daycare and everyone else was drinking out of a sippy cup. So I put her formula in a sippy cup and voila! No more bottle.
My daughter was off the bottle by ten months and was drinking regular milk from the sippy cup, which I thought was great. I would just give her milk during the day with every meal if she wanted it, but I also started giving her some soft solids and veggies. I would give her pasta, green beans or peas, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, oatmeal. You could puree fresh fruit or use baby food. Most of these things are full of nutrients. Don't worry, he will be fine.
have u tried giving him the same drink in a cup?
My son did that when he was 5 months..refused bottlesat daycare..and then at home...he started taking it again only at home around 9 months, We used a sippy cup during the day, but his milk intake was less than if using a bottle. So try just put the milk in th sippy...warm ip or give cold. It might be related to teething..I think that was his problem. I hope this helps.
