10 Month Old Not Sleeping or Napping

I have a 10 month old son that has started not sleeping through the night or taking naps. I put him to bed at 7 every night with the same routine (bath, bottle, story, bed). He has now started waking up in the middle of the night or around 4 am and wants to be up and out of his crib. I have tried going into his room and just laying him back down, giving him his blanket and leaving. Very little contact so I dont stimulate him even more. I can do this every ten minutes for hours if I let it go on that long, but after 30 minutes of doing it, I realize it's a lost cause. I have to let the others in the house get some sleep. Now that he is not sleeping 11 hours at night, he is also not napping during the day. He went from a 2 1/2 hour nap in the morning and an hour nap in the afternoon to NOTHING! I thought it was just a phase, but this has been going on for a week & a half.

I have tried putting him down a half hour earlier at night, but that only leads to him waking up earlier. He has 3 solid meals a day as well as 3 bottles of formula. Any help would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have adjusted his pajamas based of the temperature in the room, we have the room set to 74 degrees and it is comfortable. At nap time, if he doesnt want to sleep there is no convincing him to lay down. He will stand in his crib screaming until he is picked up. I have attempted the CIO method and he is persistent enough to cry for close to 2 hours. He is not the type of baby that you can leave in his crib to play. He only goes in his crib if he is tired and needs to sleep.

Has it gotten cooler at night? Could he be waking up because he's cold?
I had that happen with my son and my god-son. A warmer onesy and turning on the heater was our solution. Is he teething? Another question is if you tried letting him CIO when he wakes up at night? I understand the need for others to sleep but if he figured out that you come running every time he fusses, that's your problem! You know how smart they are! ;)
So what happens during nap time? I've had days when my son's naps were off but he would still go into the crib and stay there for at least 30mins even if he didn't nap, it was enough down time for him to wind down and not have it effect his night time sleep.

My first thought would be maybe it is just a phase since he has been such a great sleeper....be it a long phase. I say keep doing what you are doing. Maybe teeth are bothering him and waking him up. At 11 months he may be ready for only 1 nap, so find a middle time that works with yalls schedule and try putting him in his crib at that time. Keep with the routine, that's the best advice I can give. Best of luck, I know you are tired

Put him to bed later. Some kids just require different amounts of sleep. The older he gets the less he is going to need and the naps cut out. I have 3 children. I never put them in the bed earlier than 8:30 and they would sleep to at least 8 in the morning. Good luck!

try putting him to bed a little later - that may result in his sleeping until 5 or 6 in the morning. BTW 11 hours of sleeping at night is a lot of sleep. What kind of activities is he involved in? sitting around or play dates, active etc.
