10 Mo. Old Vomiting...

I agree with everyone the doctor will just tell you to keep giving him fluids. Pedialyte works good.

From my experience, they'll check to make sure he isn't dehydrated. Does he have tears when he cries? Is he urinating? They'll tell you to try to keep them hydated with small doses of liquid (1-2 tablespoons) until he's able to keep it down. My Dr. tended to try to let the baby get over it naturally as long as there was no threat of dehydration. Good luck!

Have you fed him any new or different brand foods? My friends baby power puked and it turned out it was from jar food. She would switch back to breast feeding and some avocado or banana and he would be fine. Then the older kids would go back to feeding him baby food and he would puke.
This same friend got essential oils and a reference book and started looking up and using which ever oil was recommended for fever or rash or what ever. She felt empowered as her kids would get better and it reduced her # of dr visits. S.

As everyone else said, keep him hydrated! If he starts to throw up what looks like bile - it can be yellow/brown/green in color - take him to the hospital because that is not a good sign.
Not to scare you, but my 6 week old got the flu in January this year - after the entire household had it. He and I spent 2 days in the hospital hooked up to IVs because we had gotten so dehydrated and he was throwing up bile. It only took one day for him to get that sick because he was so small. Just keep a close eye on your little. If you feel it is too much and you're worried, don't hesitate to take him in. 2 days after I took my son in, a 3 yr. old girl died because her parents waited too long - a matter of hours can make a world of difference with kids.
Most kids are fine - as yours probably will be. But as the doctor told me, a mother's instinct about their own child is soo much better than a doctor. I had called and they said he was fine. 2 hours later I was not so sure and took him in anyway. Within 30 minutes we were sent to the hospital adn admitted. MOMS KNOW BEST!

I wouldn't worry too much. It's going around. All 3 of our kids got, even the 3 month old. I was told to watch for dehydration. Make sure he is wet and dirty close to normal and can still make tears. We made it through without any problems. 5 yo through up once with several days of diarrhea, 2 yo was brutal, vomiting all night, a lot the next day, and several days of really nasty diapers, 3 mo vomited 2, maybe 3 times. Diapers were light for several days following. Each took about a week to get back to a normal diet. Thankfully they were all sick only one at a time. GL! I hope you get a light dose that doesn't pass around!

They will probably tell you to watch him for signs of lathargy(sp?) and to make sure you keep him as hydrated as possible. I know that it is scarry but I would just watch him for 24 hours and see how it is tomorrow.

You definitely need to get Pedialyte into him. It is extemely important that he doesn't get dehydrated and his electrolytes get too depleted. It can be very harmful and dangerous.

Keep him hydrated. No food, only formula or breastmilk. And only small amounts at a time.

Call your dr if your 10 month old shows any signs of dehydration or if he is not keeping fluids down. he can go days without 'food'. But needs fluids constantly. When my 18 month old was really sick. I had to give him water with a teaspoon every 10 minutes for hours. If I would give him fluids any faster he would get sick.

We went through this many times--if you nurse him, continue to nurse. There is nothing that absorbs faster into a baby's body than breast milk. He would be getting some nutrition and hydration, even if he throws up. Pedialyte is second best, I believe (not sure where formula fits in). Keep a watch on his diaper to see how many wet diapers he has and watch his temperature. Sleep near him to keep watch on breathing and throwing up. Call the doctor if you need reassurance and make an appointment first thing Monday morning if he's still throwing up. You'll get through this! Best of luck!

Our Drs rule of vomitting is to ensure they are not dehydrated and if the vomitting goes longer then 24 hours then to take them in.
I would take him in tomorrow if it hasn't stopped.
Make sure he is hydrated, sips of water, gatorade and even popsicles. Don't worry about food but clear liquids only and if formula seems to be coming up fast, just do water for now. A few days without formula I think is fine.
My Pediatrician is linked with Childrens on their after hours service, so try and just call them and ask.

It's best to speak with his pediatrician. I say this because you can't always find answers online. I'm not sure how many women on here are registered nurses; so I'd talk to his doctor.

Hopefully your son isn't sick now however keeping him hydrated is your biggest concern when they are throwing up. they are so little they can't afford to lose too much moisture. If he is still sick I would have him at the Dr. immediately.
