This actually happened to me when my son was one and my daughter was 4. It was REALLY weird. They were fine all day and then threw up in their beds at night. My husband and I then came down with an actual stomach bug, so that is definately what it was. I started them on the BRATS diet and it seemed to go away on it's only shortly after. You can look up suggestions to go along with the BRATS diet online. Good luck!

My 2 year old son has had the bug since Sat. He threw up a few times on on both Sat. & Sun, had diarrhea a couple times on Sun and on Mon, Tue & Wed has thrown up once and had diarrhea once each day. Is it normal for the vomiting to last 5 days? We are on day 6 and hopefully we won't have any more vomiting. The doctor did recommend Florastor (over the counter) for the diarrhea. It is a powder that you can put on food or mix in a drink. It is a probiotic.

My daughter often vomits in the night due to large amounts of drainage secondary to allergies/sinus infection. It is usually several times over the course of a couple of hours, and doesn't start until she has been asleep for a few hours. The weird thing with her is that she has no drainage from her nose and the only way that I know that she is sick is when she starts vomiting. She has done this for several years.

Good luck, I hope it is only a virus and will pass.

I'm sorry to say but there is a pretty bad stomach bug going around Memphis right now apparently. My hubby and I and my 4 yr old had it a week or 10 days ago. It was completely gone after about 24 hours though. As long as your baby is still getting fluids and eating that's great though. Dehydration is the biggest concern I think with stomach bugs but it sounds like you're little one is doing ok. Hope she feels better.

My son was like that only to find out it was an ear infection. When he was laying down the fluid in the ear would cause discomfort hence making him vomit. I hope this helps. We later found out everything was related to allergies. Don't you know we've been cleaning his room like crazy so he doesn't encounter things like this later on. Good luck!

Sounds like it could be one of the many strains of Norovirus.

Basically, a gastrointestinal virus with vomiting and/or diarrhea. Most Noroviruses are short lived. 2-3 days.

My children present in a very similar way. Is she spiking a fever at night too?

Do the usual, keep her hydrated, dont let her get too active during the day even if she seems to feel good - her body is still fighting, keep an eye on her in case she takes a turn.

Keep bed linens & jammies handy for middle of the night quick changes. I remember doing laundry several times during the night with sick kids. Nothing more fun than that.

Hang in there, it will be over soon!

Here's the silver lining:
Some believe that illness is the body's opportunity for growth!

Oh, poor baby! and poor mommy! Unfortunately it may last a few more days. Most tummy virus' last 1-4 days. Are you giving her something for the diarrhea?? I know doctors like to give meds to help stop it, but with this kind of virus I personally think you should just let it run it's course....keeping her hydrated though. Very important. I had a doctor in the Army tell me once, half apple juice, half water with a pinch of salt...helps to keep them hydrated and helps with diarrhea. I hope this helps and I hope she feels better soon!

About your consultation...have you ever thought of health and wellness?? I have a business with Arbonne International and it is absolutely wonderful! New compensation plan has people earning 300-500 per month as soon as they start! If you would like more info, give me a buzz ____@____.com
