My 1 year old DS has started recently (within the last week or so) waking VERY early in the morning with a poopy diaper. I get up and change him, and then try to put him back to sleep, but alas, it never works. He is normally a pretty good sleeper, but he is now loosing at least an hour or two of sleep each day now. He's sleeping at naps the same, so I just think for some reason his body has decided it has to poop early in the am, and he can't get back to sleep once he wakes. I am worried, b/c he is progressively getting crankier and crankier during the day due to the lack of sleep. So any ideas??!! : ) Can I get his body is poop earlier or later? How?! Should I just adjust his whole schedule so he goes to sleep earlier? (This would be a long and difficult thing, he is very fond of his schedule. ) Any help is very appreciated. THANKS!!

What can I do next?

I wouldn't worry or change anything. He'll probably adjust his schedule on his own. Good luck!

Maybe feed him things like grapes in the middle of the day as a snack and see if that makes him go then....or whatever your go-to poop making food is. With both my kiddos (2 and 3.5) grapes are the it food! They both poop within an hour of eating them. Maybe by cleaning out his system at a better time, it will re-set and he will stop waking early to poop! My son used to do the morning poops too when he was about a year but since he has gotten a more varied table food diet in the 2nd year and beyond, he doesn't do it anymore. Good luck!

A person poops when they poop.

Just have him nap, during the day.

He won't have this same pooping pattern all his life.
Believe me, I have 2 kids.
Don't worry.

I would NOT change his sleeping schedule/routine, just because of his poop.

my daughter (6) wakes up every single day like clockwork at 5:35 to go poop. I don't get it and I don't know what to do to change it, if anything. Thanks for posting this. I also look forward to some answers.
