1 Year Old Salt Intake

I usually make a small portion of food specifically for my 1 year old that doesn't have any salt. But today, I'm cooking a pot roast in my slowcooker and the seasonings (including a lipton mix which has a decent amount of sodium) are all mixed in there so that I can't give him a non seasoned portion. should I not give any of this to my son or is it ok? I heard all kinds of bad things about salt and babies so I'm kind of wary about letting him eat off my plate altho it'd be so much easier!! Seems like everything these days has too much sodium unless its completely made from scratch =P what do you moms do? when can toddlers eat more salt?

What can I do next?

Let your child taste and eat what you eat. If it's too salty, they won't like it.
My kids hated jarred baby food because it was too bland. The wanted the real thing.
They are both healthy, happy and have no health issues.
A one year old likely won't consume enough sodium to worry about.
Let him taste things.

Just my opinion.

When the roast is done dab or wash off his piece. It should be fine, I used to do this with my son when I was limiting his salt as a baby. He ate it up! Or if its to salty then just feed him something else.

I give my daughters what ever I eat 8 months 20 months and they are just fine. We use salt in everything and have heard its bad results, but we dont use to much. I think it will be fine expecially if its just the one time!

It is impossible to eat a low salt diet unless you eat baby food and plain fruits and vegs.. cheese has salt, as does yogurt and cottage cheese.. processed meats are loaded with salt.

I commend you for trying to feed your baby healthy,, but unless you want to change the diet of everyone in the house it will be very hard to feed the babya low salt diet..

toddlers can eat more salt when they are done with jarred baby foods.
