You need to calm down - this is NORMAL ((HUG))
OK. Im starting to get frustrated. Im a pediatric nurse, and I have been off birth control since August. I know thats not a long time, but I really thought I would be pregnant by now. I bought the book "Taking charge of your fertility", and I have done what it says, and still not pregnant. Whats the problem? Im 25, and have a healthy 5 year old, and so I know I can have a baby. I spent 10 years trying to avoid pregnancy, and got a suprise around 19 named Colby. But now I WANT a baby, and I have the means, but I cant get pregnant. Its not fair. I dont even know where to go from here, b/c I did everything the book says, and still not pregannt. I took a test this morning and it was neg. My period is due sometime next week, and I dont feel pregnant, so Im sure it(my period) will come. My friends keep telling me not to think about it, and it will happen when its right, BUT how can I NOT think about it?

I don't have any good answers to your concerns but I wanted to write you and let you know you are not alone. I went off my birth control in June and have yet to get pregnant. I am feeling the same way you are. I had my beautiful daughter when I was 19 and now 5 years later I want another child. I am also frustrated and dreading waiting another month to see if I am pregnant. I wish I had some answers for you and I, but I don't. Hopefully when the time is right we will get the good news we are looking for. Have faith and know you are not alone!
Well I suggest you give it a little more time. I used that book as well and I got pregnant within 3 months, but I was off the pill for over six. I really think everyone's body is so different and it might be taking a little bit longer for the birth control to leave you system. Most OBGYN's will tell you it can take up to a year, but at least 6 months for the birth control to leave your body. Now there are people who get pregnant the month after they stop taking the pill great for them we are all not that lucky. Along with the book I also used an ovulation kit to pin point my exact days of ovulation (it took me a couple of months). I was off by two day just using the book so the kit really helped. Then when I was trying to get pregnant with my second child it only took one time since I already knew when I ovulated. Don't get discouraged it will happen soon good luck.
You might try a Nature Sunshine product called "Female Comfort". The women that I have suggested it to have all gotten preganant. It balances out your hormones so that you are ovulating on a regular basis. Take it per the directions on the bottle. It usually takes a month or two for women who have irregular periods to see a difference. The women who are just trying to get pregnant are usually pregnant within about 3 months! It can also be used for menopausal women to help balance out the hormone surges. Hope to hear back from you that you have good news! Blessings,

It takes longer than 5 months for those chemicals to clear
all the way out, depending on how longyou have taken them.
I got pregnant 16 months after taking birth control
for only 9 months.
also stressing over it does not help.
I think the key is figuring out when/if you ovulate. There are kits that can pinpoint when you are ovulating, and this will help you determine when you are fertile.
I waited for 6 months of "trying" before I visited my OB/GYN for guidance. We ended up doing IVF, but I'm glad I didn't wait any longer to get the ball rolling.
Good luck!
