Hey moms. I need homecare remedies. The more natural the better. I have tried hot compress. Not helping. Ouch! Not to mention so ugly.

I learned so much just from the nine of you! This is an amazing network of support. And so here is what happened. It's gone! I used the warm compresses every day for 4 days. I did the gold ring trick, not sure that it worked, but it might have? :) I looked up sources of vitamin A and found that animal meat and liver are high in this vitamin...as I am vegetarian, I guess I will need to supplement. So I learned that mango, butternut squash, carrots and red bell peppers provide lots of A. I will work on that. I did call the nurse abd ask if I should be seen by the doctor, she advised that I continue homecare and watch for fever or pus. Yuck! Also, just wondering about the ring trick...does it have to be yellow gold? Will white gold or platinum work too?

I've tried this in the past and it always works for me- my M. told me that a stye in the eye was due to an infected eyelash hair, so she would say to pull the eyelashes in that area where the stye was. I know it's sounds painful, but it actually isn't. After pulling the eyelash, I would put a warm compress and it went away almost immediately.

An eye sty is an infection. You should see a doctor about it. Also, keeping hands clean and out of the eyes is important but extremely difficult for children. Good luck.
Eye styes are a sign you aren't getting enough vitamin a in your diet. try using fresh aloe on them. it stings a little at first but actually takes some of the pain away and helps it heal faster. good luck elaine
i get styes as well and they alwasy go away on their own..just keep your hands away from it..
take a gold band (like a wedding ring) and rub it on your palm until it gets warm then apply it right on the stye, keep doing that for about 5 to 10 min. Then trying a warm washcloth. My son gets them all the time and this really helps. Old family remedy past down. Hope this helps.
My daughter has it now, actually. We did the warm compresses every night before bed until it popped. Now, I've been putting the "stye" ointment on it so help with healing. It is such an ugly thing on my otherwise beautiful daughter (yes, I'm a proud mom!), but we all had to go through it! :) Take care!
Compresses of chamomile and/or eyebright herbs (in a teabag) may be very helpful, every 1/2 hour.

Hot/watm compresses as much as possible work, they will help reduce pain from swelling, and help it "go away". NEVER TRY TO POP ONE though! ! Hope this helps
