Hey Moms! I have a huge problem. My daughter is 3 1/2 and has been potty trained for a while now. She goes all night without any problems. Well, twice this week, when she's been sleeping with us, she's had an accident. My question is this. How in the heck do I get the tee tee out of our brand new pillow-top matress? When it happened, I got a towel and tried to sop it up but it had already absorbed into the fabric. I laid down last night to go to bed and the smell just over-whelmed me. I dont have any animals so I have no any idea how to clean up this sort of mess. Surely there are mamas that have experienced this.

Nature's Miracle; sold at PetSmart, is really great for these kinds of things, though I don't know how much help it will be for the part that has absorbed into the mattress. Well worth having around, though, so give it a try.

Soak the entire area with Nature's Miracle (can buy at pet stores). You want to get it really wet (w/the NM) in the morning and let it dry SLOWLY all day. The stain may stay, but it really works to get the odor out!!

Try the pottypager.com! It works wonders. The mattress smel you can try vinegar and club soda or just invest in anew mattress. GL!

I could only guess at how to get the stain and smell out, but I have another suggestion that
I stumbled across rather accidentially. I think it was at CVS pharmacy that I saw an oversized
waterproof felt pad for adults in the feminine hygene section and bought it for my young one.
At the time, she was crawling into our bed and
often spent the night with cousins and friends and this pad gave me peace of mind. It has come in handy many times for travel and home and although she doesn't have many accidents, I sleep better.
Don't laugh, but I would probably saturate the stain with oxyclean, stand on it to soak it back up in multiple absorbant towels and turn on all the fans and open the windows if I couldn't easily move the mattress out into the sun. Also, you might use a solution of water and baking powder for the smell before or after the oxyclean.
I feel your pain.
Good luck with it,
C. S.
....Oh, what about professional carpet and furniture cleaners who steam clean and vaccuum out the moisture?

We have had this problem as well and I clean it with fabric cleaner and then sprinkle baking soda over the area and let it on for most of the day. Then I vacuum the baking soda off and make the bed. It really absorbs the odor.
