So What Happened?

Hi all,

Thanks for all your suggestions and recommended products. I'm actually hesitant to try anything new while I'm pregnant so I'm going to stick with using the gentle cleanser and moisturizer by Aveeno. I trust Aveeno as a product. Then a friend of mine actually recommended using a diluted mixture of organic apple cider vinegar with distilled water as an astringent. Wouldn't you know the simplest and natural way worked! I've been using it for about a week and my skin is totally clearing up without any drying and no new breakouts! If anyone else is interested in trying it. The mixture is simple: add about 1 - 2 tsp or organic apple cider vinegar to about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of water (preferably distilled), shake it or mix it and then apply a bit to a cotton pad and apply to entire face and neck. That combined with the gentle cleanser and moisturizer from Aveeno and my skin hasn't looked so healthy and smooth in a long time! We'll see if it lasts but at this point I can't believe I wasted so much money on so many other products for years without nearly as good results!

I would say yes but also my answer would depend on the use. I am on daiy shots and use one small alcohol wipe per day and it is advised my my Re. But large amounts may not be such a good idea

Hi, I presume you're using this for a toner. If so, there are very good toners out there. Mary Kay has 3 different toners for $13 and they're safe throughout pregnancy and my children also use our products. Plus there is a 3-in-1 cleanser that includes cleanser, mask and toner for $18. Check Mamasource businesses for referrals. I would recommend that over rubbing alcohol and if it's for your face, you will get much better results. If you have an acne issue, there's one that also includes salycilic acid. Hope this helps.

As long as you're not drinking it, can't see why not! :)

More information would be helpful but 'rubbing alcohol' and 'skin care' should never be used in the same sentence :) What are you using it for?

What are you using rubbing alcohol on? Please do not say your face. It is okay but is way to drying for the face. If you need help, I am a doula and esthetician in Culver City.

Take care,

I guess that depends on where you are using it. If you have an infected cut, I think that alcohol is appropriate, but don't go crazy with it, because your skin absorbs all sorts of chemicals.

How about more information. Why and where and how often.

So how about checking out the Sensaria Natural Bodycare line. Great skin and body care products that even your newborn will be able and should use. I dealt with cystic and chronic acne for over 30 years until I started using Sensaria's products. There is even a one-year guarantee that no other skin care company offers that I have found. Wonderful moisturizers that you will be able to use on your growing belly too:o)

I loved the products so much in what they did for me, that I could use them with my allergies and sensitivities, my daughter's eczema went away, and all of the kids with autism and families that I work with that love the products. I have been a representative with Sensaria for almost eight years now (WOW!). Love them!

Hi J.. I became curious about the ingrediants of Mary Kay products from your post since I am a MK consultant. The Velocity moisturizer and the Blemish Control Toner Formula 3 are the only items with Salicylic Acid in them. I would recommend the Mary Kay® Acne Treatment Gel ($7.00) to dry up pimples. My kids and I swear by it! If you would like to try it (money back guarentee) please email me at ____@____.com luck.
