Dr. Duane Spencer, 1855 on San Miquel Dr. in Walnut Creek, on the hill above Macy's Dept. Store, has been a great Children's Dentist. I used to take my preschool classes to his office for field trips and he was our son's dentist. His phone number is ###-###-####. He has had a sterling reputation for many years and has been known as the "Snoopy Dentist" because of the Peanuts Cartoon theme throughout his office. You be the judge. Dr. Don Schmidt practices in Concord and Danville ( off El Cerro Blvd ) - beware tho... sometimes they( meaning Pediatric Dentists in general ) papoose young children if they need dental work and it can be quite scary for the child. It doesn't hurt them but it makes it so their arms cannot grab at things. Dr. Schmidt is a good dentist tho. Make it a positive fun experience and I am sure your child will do fine. Also...in Orinda, theres a group practice - Dr. Wampler, Katsura, etc. There are about 4 or 5 doctors there. A friend of mine worked there and liked the practice.

Hello -
I would highly recommend my Pediatric Dental office Joseph Wampler/Neil Katsura, D.D.S., INC. They have two offices: Orinda and Berkeley. There are wonderful reviews of all the dentists on BPN. We see Dr. Carole Miyahara at the Berkeley office. She is wonderful as well as the staff. Neil Katsura has the most and best reviews on BPN but it is very difficult to get in as a new patient under him. We have been extremely satisfied w/ Dr. Miyahara. The Orinda office is located at 96 Davis Road, Suite 1 ###-###-####.

We see Dr. Robert Khalil (aka Dr. Bob) at Orinda Pediatric Dentristry, and my son feels very comfortable with him. I've also heard that Dr. Katsura, in the same office, is wonderful. My 3-year old has had check-ups and 2 fillings and everything has gone very smoothly with little or no tears.

I really like Pediatric Dentistry of Pleasant Hill, on Pleasant Hill Road near Taylor. I have been taking my boys there since they were very little. The are very experienced with kids, the office is large and bright and they make going to the dentist as nice as something like that can be. At first, I had tremendous apprehension taking my kids as I spent a lot of time in "the chair" as a kid and dreaded every moment of it. I was able to overcome my fears, seeing how caring this fine group of dental professionals were with my kids and all the other kids there as well. Wish I could have experienced dentistry like this when I was little!

Hello S.-
My three kids (ages 12,6,2) see a dentist in Pleasant Hill. The dentist name is Dr. Robert Harmon. They are very friendly and cater to kids. Their office is even decorated for kids and they have a nice play area for the kids to play while waiting for their appointment. We have been seeing this practice for 11 years now. We use to live in Martinez and even though we moved to Danville I still take my kids here.
Their address is 2710 Pleasant Hill Road, Pleasant Hill.

I have the BEST pediatric dentist in Walnut Creek. His name is Duane Spencer. He is extremely experienced and an EXCELLENT dentist. He was even the one who did the forensic testing on the teeth of the poor tiger that escaped at the San Francisco zoo. His entire office is decorated with Snoopy. My daughter loves going there. The staff is so friendly.
He is at 1850 San Miguel Drive, Suite 9. It's right up the street from Whole Foods. Just go up Newell, turn Left on San Miguel and then left into the first driveway. Follow the driveway down towards the back (kind of in the shape of a backward J), and his office is right in front of you. Can't miss it with the Snoopy on the door. His number is ###-###-####.
Good luck!!!

We used to go to Dr. Donald Schmidt in Danville. I would NOT recommmed him to anyone. They have a fancy office and all the high tech gadgits, but truth is I had to have almost all the work he did on my three girls redone by another pedaitric dentist. The fillings he put in cracked, or were put in so poorly that decay built around and under them. My daughters sealants he did wore off within six months. It cost me hundreds of dollars twice not to mention the discomfort my kids went through having all his sloppy work corrected. His hygenists were nice enough but did a poor job cleaning their teeth.
After my childrens' visits with their new dentist they told me how much better they liked her, even after having cavities redone with no t.v. to watch, or numbing nitrous oxide or novicane - they liked her better. They had never complained about Dr. Schmidt so I didn't know they didn't like him, after we switched they talked about it. I have taken my children to the dentist every six months since they were two years old. Some dentists are definately better than others. I'd recommend you to ours but she is in Pleasanton. Good luck in your search.
