there is a gymboree in webster groves and also the ymca has classes
I am looking for a fun place to bring my 19 month old to jump and play like a gymboree or little gym but in St. Louis City. Does such a place exist? I don't want to go to gymboree because their class times are very limited (almost impossible for a working mom to make it to an open play).

Gymboree only has one location in the St. Louis area. It is located in Webster Groves. Check out gymboreeclasses.com and it can tell you a lot more about it.
I live in South City as well. The Affton White-Rodgers Community Center has toddler playtimes (and a gym they'll let you play in even when it's not that time) and is just down off of Gravois. The Carondelet YMCA and South City YMCA both have open gym and open pool times that are handy. Monkey Joes on Watson is further and more expensive, but can be a relief on yucky days. Some local churches will have playtimes, or Mothers Of PreschoolerS meetings. To go further, there's a Little Gym at 141 and Gravois in Fenton by the WalMart. There's something called Happy Day or somesuch also on Watson east of Happy Joe's Pizza and west of the city-- it looks like an indoor playground. I've never been but a friend mentioned it the other day. Sometimes we go to Crestwood Plaza and let him run if nothing else is open; sadly, it's never busy.
It is not in the city but very close. the webster YMCA has a kids gym. If you are not a Y member you can still buy a gym punch card for $27 for 10 visits. They have open play a couple of times a day or you can sign up for classes (prices vary) Hope this helps
