Searching for Nursery or Preschool

Let me start off by saying that I am very picky on who watches my children and I am a social worker in a school. My son has attended Twin Oaks Country Day school since 2 yrs old, and my daughter is starting in the fall. The full day has a 3 hour enrichment program and then the regular classroom. They learn everything from letters to writing, to geography ect. but still maintain a fun, imaginative, social balance. Its wonderful! Good Luck

Hi!! I don't know if you are looking for a private school but Saint Francis of Assisi..located on 21st Ave between 45 and 46th Streets in Astoria Queens has a 3 year old program, Some public school have half day programs also. Good Luck I.

not sure where you live but we are in Oyster Bay and there is an excellent school by the name of Building Blocks. My 3 year old is there now and my 2 year old will start in September. The teachers are great and so are the families and kids. Hope this helps!

Tutor Time is a really good preschool. My niece and nephew went to the Bayside location(Springfield Blvd). There are many locations, but unfortunately for me, none close to where I live in Brooklyn so my son couldn't attend. It is a bit pricey, but worth it.

TutorTime in Bayside, queens has a very good reputation. They have a daily curriculum with play activities addressing fine motor,gross motor and sensory motor skills.Its costly but mothers think its worth it, you can pop in the school at any time and observe his classroom from the observation window they even have security cameras where every staff member is watched at all times. You should look at their website which lists his daily schedule. good luck

Kiddie Junction in Hicksville (or around there) has a fantastic program. My nephew and several of my friends' kids have gone there, but it is pretty expensive. My daughter is going to be 3 as well and I am looking into the nursery school in my parish, but I'm not sure if I want to send her to nursery--I may wait a year and send her to pre-k, she's pretty advanced intellectually, but she could use some work on the discipline to sit and listen. Whatever you decide, you do have to move quickly. Most of the registrations are done in January and a lot of programs are already full.
