We are moving to South Carolina in two weeks and have leased a brand new home for the next year. Our son is 15 months and into everything! :) I would greatly appreciate any advice on the best ways to childproof cabinets and drawers without doing damage or anything permanent. I hate to admit it, but we didn't childproof anything except for outlet covers (he was barely sitting up when we moved in here). So currently, my childproofing is me watching him very closely! Any advice/brands/things to buy, etc. is greatly, appreciated!!
I love "tot-lok" products. They are magnetized latches inside your cabinets. You use the strong magnet that comes with them to unlock them. It is hard to explain. You don't see anything on the outside. It is impossible to open them without the magnet (or some kind of destruction). They also won't show any damage on the outside if you choose to take them with you if you move out.

I didn't want to drill holes into my cabinets/drawers, so I purchased some adhesive childproof locks. I got them through onestepahead.com. I have had them on for a year and they haven't fallen or broken off. Well worth it!

Another option is maybe purchasing a superyard and giving baby his own area to roam.
we use some of the devices that hook around or through the knobs on the cabinets. they work great..just a little more of a hassle to get into. i found many different types at baby's R us.
If you can't add locks to the cabinets, then I would suggest you don't put anything in the cabinets that you wouldn't want your son to get. Put glass dishes up in the top cabinets and put the tupperware in the bottom cabinets, stuff he can't hurt or get hurt with. That's what we did in our house. We have a few cabinets with the magnetic TOT-LOKs on them, but most lower cabinets are full of tupperware, towels and tableclothes, stuff like that. You may need to find creative places for things like soap in your bedroom closet instead of under the bathroom sink. Hope this helps.
