Need Recommendation for Good Place to Buy Nursing Bras

I'm coming to visit my mom in the bay area and am in desperate need of comfortable nursing bras, since I am unable to find anything near my size in Costa Rica (where I currently live). My challenge is I'm only 23 weeks so I'll need a store with a very helpful and knowledgeable staff in order to find the best bra(s) that will "grow" with me. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the bay area and will also be up in Sacramento and LA on this trip too. Oh, and surprisingly enough I'm only in the 36-38 C-D range which you would think would be common enough sizes to find in a foreign country but seems I'm "uncommon." Any help or specific nursing bra suggestions would be welcome! - Pura Vida!

What can I do next?

Motherhood Maternity is the only place I needed to buy mine. I stocked up there. Sleep bars for $12, day time with no wires or pads for the same I believe & for a more traditional looking day time bra also with no wires but with pads $18. All are nursing bras which this way you don't have to buy extra when you are nursing & you can't even tell they are any different when wearing. They will fit you at the store for free & help you try to figure out how to buy for the future. (FYI regarding sizes: I ended up using the ones I bought around my 4 or 5 month for the rest of my pregnancy & haven't needed to buy more sizes yet. I am having a c-section tomorrow at 40 weeks & plan to buy more after my milk comes in.) (remember when buying bras: when you are nursing you don't want any bras with under wires because it can cause clogged milk ducts)

I like Elle McPherson's nursing bras which they sell at Nordstrom's.

The best bra I found while I was pregnant was at Mimi Maternity in Walnut Creek (or any Mimi Maternity I'm sure). They fitted me, took into account how big I'll be when I'm nursing, and got me a really reasonably priced bra. And it was SO comfortable. I would definitely go back there!

I was happy with Mom's the Word in Walnut Creek. Their website is www.momstheword.com. I also want to try www.herroom.com, but they are only online. I know it is easier to go somewhere and get fitted, but its another option for you.
Good Luck!

Hi K.,
I had a great experience at Bras for Body & Soul in Fremont. Here is their website. www.hersfund.org

They will make an appointment for your fitting and spend a lot of time with you. There was no additional charge for the appointment and I think she must have spent at least 30-40 minutes with me. I was fitted by Melody. Everyone is very friendly. I was so surprised by having a fitting--I would never have purchased the appropriate size without it. She tried many different styles on me and I found 2 styles of Bravado bras which were perfect for me and very comfortable! I have had a "fitting" elsewhere, where the salesperson was just trying to have me buy the most expensive bra in the store. Good luck!
