I have a teenage daughter who has possible polycystic ovary syndrome. She has been having pain in her right side for nearly a year and she's had all kinds of tests and been to a gastroenterologist 3 times. This pain is undiagnosed and now that I've questioned if it could be related to PCOS, they're considering the possibility and suggested I take her to a gyn. I have lousy insurance so I can't afford to waste time on doctors who don't know what they're talking about. I need to find a gyn who has a lot of experience with PCOS, who cares enough to listen and find the problem. I feel like we're an episode of Mystery Diagnosis!
I just asked pretty much this question so you may want to see some of my responses. The doctor I'm seeing now, Dr.Matuszek, I don't really recommend for PCOS, but she is a pretty good gyn. I just don't think she's very familiar with PCOS, or if she is familiar with it, she isn't taking my concerns seriously.

There are endocrinologists that know about PCOS too. I had seen Dr. Stanley Mathew at BJC St. Peters. His number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
Dr. Brondz in St. Charles, is a very nice, older gentleman and is highly recommended. In fact, it was some of the nurses at St. Joseph Health Center who recommended him because of his experience. I have been very pleased with him and his staff.
Dr. Fred Durer at Women's Health Care is great.
