Are you taking birth control pills? This happened to me several years ago. My birth control pills had to be changed to get it to stop.

Although it has not happened to me I have heard of this. you could have developed endometriosis so it's time for you to see your OBGYN and if you don't have health insurance call the health department to be seen for an exam.

I have ben recently going through the same ordeal. See your gyn. Mine put me on birth control to regulate my periods. It took several months, but I am using Yasmin this time and it seems to be working. Good luck. I know it is very frustrating and annoying

Hello A.,

My name is J.. Have you talked to your Dr. about it? What happened with myself after I had a miscarriage in 2002 and that had happened is they put me on birth control. Which ended up making me sick; however it helped to regulate mr periods to where they were somewhat back on the schedule they were on before. Ask your dr. and please keep me posted at ____@____.com. Thank You dear. Enjoy them while they are young. They grow up so fast.

The same thing happened to me when I had my son. My first period after having him lasted for almost two months. I blead the whole month of August, then I had a period every two weeks for almost a year. My doctor tried to control it with Birth Control. She ran a bunch of test and found out that I had PCS. I am back to normal now. I know its frustrating, but just hang in there. If you feel something is wrong contact your doctor.

I've had long periods for about three or four months now, but not that long- mine have been two weeks long, with a really heavy second week. Fun! I would definitely call your doctor and make sure you're taking a multivitamin with iron so you don't become anemic.

Yep, thought it would never stop and I was breastfeeding full time! I bled for 3 months post partum with all 3 of my kids. My dr had me come back periodically to check for infection (that one hadn't developed), but all was fine. When I started trying to get my hormones back together (after the 1st 2 kids I was on bio-identical hormones because I naturally didn't produce enough progesterone all cycle long and after my 3rd I used chinese herbs - all ended in same result of more balanced hormones and my cycles regulated perfectly. Good luck!

I had my third baby last July and aside from the the usually discharge after birth, I had my period for almost three months. It would lighten up for a few days then go again. I would check with your gynecologist to be sure nothing is out of wack, but my issue was just because I had an IUD placed. It's great birth control, but my body took some getting used too it. Now I have phantom periods that come maybe every other month and are rewally light only lasting a day or two.
